Ok, so i bought this kite about a year ago (Elliot Magma 3.0), their range goes upto a 5.0 i believe, with is 5m, but mine is the 3m version.
This kite has unbelievable traction for its size. i introduced a few of my friends to powerkiting, and one of my friends is about 5stone heavier than
me, so he got a 4.5m kite. I had a go on it, it has no where near the same amount of traction my kite that is 1.5m smaller has. They are the same
shape and style. not sure of his make.
The kite handles like a dream, its so responsive, that it took a while to get to grips with it, considering i was a beginner at the time. i would
reccomend this kite to anyone that is just starting up and wants a s**t load of traction from launch.
The bad thing about this kite, however i guess its the same with many kites, is that, in pretty much any wind speed, if you take it to the far sides
of the window (maybe a bit further) it will often just fold up. there are obvious methods to prevent this, such as pulling the handles so you are in a
spread eagled kinda position, this will often open it back up. it does have a tendency to fold in upon itself though, and there is little you can do,
except hope it doesn't tangle too much on the way down..
anyone else had any experiences with these kites? they seem to be pretty rare. i not seen them in any shops other that "Edge" in Exmouth, England
(where i bought mine), and on a french website.
