I flew a 12m Cabrinha Omega 2007 this summer and thought it was a great kite. Very nice balance between stability and fast turns.
I kite-board on an inland lake so the high depower ability of the kite really opened up the wind range I was able to fly the kite. There were only a
couple days during the summer when I was over-powered on the 12 (gusts to 35 knots+), and there were very few days when I had to break out my 17m Best
Waroo on light wind days. Thankfully a friend had a 9m Crossbow I could borrow on the super windy days.
My one complaint about the kite was very high bar pressure when rigged up with the 2:1 pulleys. Mabye it was because I am still learning, and learned
to kite on the Waroo. Once I rigged up the kite 1:1 the bar pressure decreased dramatically, and felt much more responsive. This did reduce the
depower range of the kite slightly, but not as much as I expected.
I have read that Cabrinha is not planning to continue the Omega line of kites. Anyone know why?
