New Ace 6m pics

Well, my new Ace 6m came in. I got it from dlish89. This is the first kite that my 12 year old looked at with a little reverence. It was quite intimidating spread out all over the living room floor. All seems well with it. I commented a week or so ago about the cell bracing looking orange on Tridudes 4m Ace. Turns out the bracing IS orange. The lines look good enough to give a go with. The handles have improved since I got the Blaze back in the summer. The leaders seem a little more substantial and the drilled holes although still sloppy and rough do have a bushing to protect the leaders. I stretched out the lines and attached them to the handles and the lines are equal lengths. The sewn loops on the lines are a major step up in quality. We will see how they all do after a few flights. Of course the curse is in place and we had a reported wind speed today of 2 mph. I didn't see it. We are supposed to get 10 mph and rain on Sunday. We'll hope she can get in the air and the rain holds off. I'll give a flight review when she flys.

Here is a look at the kite in the living room.

I'm glad it made it ok and you are pleased. If you think thats big you should see the 8m ace layed out. I was fairly disappointed in the handles. The first set you got must be really bad. I understand they are working on better handles:thumbup: and as far as the lines go I don't see anything wrong with them either. They are nicer than the set that came with my npw5. Have fun and be safe with that monster.

The old handles had a nice aluminum tube bent to the correct angle and a firm rubbery stuff like the new handles. The holes for the leaders were drilled with one pass of a dull drill bit. Jagged edges everywhere. Then they just ran the line through and shipped it. So the new handles don't have much better drilling but they did put a bushing on there to save the leaders passing through. It isn't hard to drill a hole without leaving jagged edges.

Thanks, I can't wait to see it all blown up and waiting for me to give the lines a tug. Maybe Sunday. I just looked and we are forecast to have flyable winds Friday thru Sunday. Should see some air time with 3 days of it.
