Custom Colored Flysurfer Psycho III 8m just arrived :) :)

domdino - 18-12-2007 at 07:38 PM

My lovely new kite just arrived!!! :D needed to share my colors with the world!

I think, provided flysurfer have really caught up with their turning speeds, that i'm gonna get a pulse2 12m to sit in between it and my 17m and call that my quiver :D

Really would like to test one first though... hmm.

So whatcha all think of my custom colors? Can't wait to fly her, the 8m is my fav. psycho.

Sorry for the crappy pic, need one in the sky!

Lookin' good Dom

What is your low end on water with the 8m PIII?

Baluk - 18-12-2007 at 09:56 PM

I never liked the PIII graphics. But these colorus are just awesome! It looks sweet. Can't wait for an in teh air pic!

Low end for me (at 165lbs) is about 15mph to stay upwind, 20mph to start having more fun!

I realllllly badly wanna find someplace i can test a 12m pulse!

powerzone - 19-12-2007 at 08:23 AM

your quiver selection is awesome.

the 12m Pu2 should fit perfectly between the 8m P3 and the SA1.5 17m.

then you'll be covered from 7-8knots to 30+knots and lovin' every session.

good choice on the 12mPu2.

Looks good Dom--you can increase the lower end on your 8m--get a directional 6'2 or 6'4. At your weight/skill level you should be able to get upwind in 10 to 12 mph.

yeah i might get one of the monster doors, do you think a surfboard would work better? i definitely need a new low wind board of some kind!

action jackson - 19-12-2007 at 10:37 AM

Try some of the larger Crazy flys 145x49 ........aj

powerzone - 19-12-2007 at 10:39 AM

you dont need a Monster door.

a standard door is all you need, the 64 is plenty big. the 54 is more ideal.

a buddy of mine is selling his Litewave 179, i'll list it on the cassifieds soon.

email or U2U me if interested.

how long did it take to get your Custom Color Psycho?

domdino - 19-12-2007 at 02:47 PM

took about, hmm, must of been 2 or 3 months i guess!

tridude - 20-12-2007 at 07:49 AM

looking at your avatar Im surprised you dont already own a directional. A 6'2 or 6'4 board will def increase your low end on the Pulse. Could hurt your top end (too fast) but again youve been on the water for awhile so you should be able to handle it. The new E2 epoxy boards are almost bullet proof and will last you a long time. NSP (new surf project) makes a nice board and they run around $250/300ish new. Make sure you go for a short, tri fin set up (fcs or box) makes no difference. The fish boards have four side bites with no middle fin and are loose in comparison to the tri fin set up. If youre surfing waves or chop, the directional is the way to go IMO.

Forgot to mention rails. Stay away fron the 50/50 rails (top and bottom equal rounded contour). You want the bottom of the rail more of a right angle or sharp edge to create bite for getting upwind and loading up for jumps. Built in nose and tail rocker will help you thru the chop and turn when you squash the tail!

Thanks for the tips tridude! Yeah that pic was back when i was in cali, in new york now so not so much in the way of waves, but i am moving to san fransisco next summer! :)

Would like to try a directional for sure, i've just never used them and i'm used to twintips... would love to try some out first :)

Great color choice! I have Door 54 and it's plenty for me (150 lb). Agree with powerzone, maybe Door 64 should be should be good enough. - Brian
