He, He,

Random guy isn't relying on a bic pen :smug:

Actually this is a very similar set-up to a few of my factory Quick releases. It should work O.K. if it's all you can afford.

Should work fine, pretty much the way a lot of the LEI qr's work, only concern would be the lenght of it, I'm guessing it'll put the handles a ways from your body by the time you have a pulley on it.

Someone should try making one and see how long it comes in at if you concentrate on keeping it short

The shortest i could make it is 6 1/2 inches with a larks head at the end

Length isn't bad at all, I would probably spin it around and have the release by pulling away from your body though. Next step, try hanging on it, see if it'll hold the weight and release under tension.

I first had it spun around and with it that way the cotter pin flings around whin released under tension. It poped up and hit my hand. i will try different configs to see what i can come up with. I put 60 lbs on it and it is very easy to pull

NPWfever - 4-1-2008 at 11:14 PM

Sounds like mine, you need to choose between death, or getting smacked in the face with the collar. I chose face  What is that sleeve made of? Seems like a good temp for me as I don't have one and have been hooking straight into the strop with a beaner:rolleyes:

NPWfever - 4-1-2008 at 11:16 PM

OHHHH!!!!! I got it! So it doesn't fly off drill a small hole in the sleeve near the end and tie it to the paracord with some light kiteline!!!! :smug:

It is part of a alum. arrow shaft about 2 inches of it. get a large cotter pin one that will take up about half the inside the tube to small it will bend and pull out. Its not the tube thats the problem its the cotter pin as it comes out of the tube and whips around to release the line. but the way it is right now its not that bad. i will set in it tommarow and see what happens
