Wow, this sounds like a basic human interest story till the gravity of the decision the dad was about to make sinks in. What a horrible position to
be in, and what a horrible one to have to live with once you make it if it doesn't work out. Thank goodness the guy was proficient enough to be able
to do the rescue in less than perfect conditions.
