I thought that someone was going to do a review on these kites ?
Funny the add suggests that you need to try one to feel the difference.
I'D LOVE TO !!!! I haven't even seen one and I'm Canadian.

different weight of people play an important role too, thats why they sell different sizes.DAKITEZ - 4-2-2008 at 11:58 AM
I figured it was a weight issue, at the cost of those kites I hope you don't need more than 2.Bladerunner - 4-2-2008 at 12:26 PM
The folks at Conceptair were some of the 1st to really get serious about snowking and touring. They have been making quality kites for years but just
don't seem to break out.
I think they are too small to just send demo's out all over but don't grow due to lack of exposure.
I owned a wave ( very used ) that I wasn't pleased with. Now I realize it must have had some bridle stretch.
The big thing I don't get about them is their claim to being to only variable geometry kite. Isn't that what wac is all about on my Flysurfers ???DenisLaMenace - 4-2-2008 at 04:39 PM
Ok I am here
I live in Quebec, they are made in Quebec. but I have never tried it.
From what I have read, is they have a good depower. A lot of local folks claim the so great depower on the Concept air smarts on the local forum here.
But they have never tried a flysurfer.
A friend of mine, who rides Flysurfer Speed2 had to give lessons last winter with their products. He hated them.
The problem is advertising the kite range, between 15km/h to 50km/h (about 27knots) for a smart 8.5. a Pulse Psycho3 or Speed2 10m can do better in
term of high end. Actually this wind range is not for all levels.
Ok 15km/h you can fly the kite, but then what. It wont get you moving.
The kite has a very low aspect ratio (less than 3.2), this is less than an ozone access. So will an experienced rider have fun with this kite. Dont
know. But definitely a great beginner kite.
Finally the kite is UGLY, and they sell in the same price range as an Ozone Frenzy. I would definitely buy Ozone for the same price.
Another problem, is being a small company, their marketing suffers. The same kite, look and feel every year. No way to differentiate the year model.
On the other hand, concept air also makes the Leader, a fixed bridle high aspect ratio kite. I have seen this kite flying in very light winds, seem
very performing, and very fun to fly.Bladerunner - 4-2-2008 at 04:56 PM
Thanks Buzz,
I thought that they may have taken off ( so to speak ) in Quebec.
I have also heard good things about the Leader model of fixed bridle.
I think this Family make good kites. It's a shame they don't seem to have to marketing down.
Funny how often Smart and Ugly often both apply ! :duh:

The reason they are so popular in Quebec is probably because local shops like to get supply from a local manufacturer. They avoid shipping delay,
customs, paper works, etc...
Then people buy what their local retailers tell them to buy.
So this is why there are so many Concept air and Paraskiflex on the kite spots in Quebec.
Because they are made here, probably that they have enough business and too busy to market them outside Quebec. The price to make one kite is probably
much higher than Ozone, or other companies. So they dont sell cheap.
They should try to make the leader depowerable. Maybe someone has. I don't know.DenisLaMenace - 11-2-2008 at 07:57 AM
just wanted to retract some of what I say above:
I talked with my friend who rides flysurfer too, and was giving lessons with concept air product before.
this is what he had to say:
The SMART s a very nice kite. Concept air made a big improvment when releasing this kite. The product he hated was a previous kite made by the
company.
He beleives that Concept air could not have improved the SMART so much without copying another company. And he thinks it has some nice features of the
Pulse including an equivalent depower rangeBladerunner - 11-2-2008 at 08:42 AM
I'm still trying to get the whole concept of variable geometry down ? They claim to be the only one with it so ..... What is it ... and how is it so
different from WAC ?PrairieWind - 18-2-2008 at 09:15 PM
Saw a vid on kiteforum.com of the smart kite in powder - it is below. There are a couple of other smart kite vids from you tube below that one.
Wow, kite seems to be doing alright. Super fast, the guys cruising, and popping some nice jumps. I'm pretty sold...if they weren't so expensive.PrairieWind - 3-3-2008 at 08:15 PM
Here is another Smart kite vid... some clips from previous vids,... but the stability demo is nice...
