Help with D-Loop setup

Hey Gang,

I apologize in advance for the knuckle-headed question. So I finally got a harness (went with the Mystic Blazer,) and now I'm trying to figure out how to attach the D-loop to my Beamer TSR control bar. Angus gave me a hint a while back in a different thread:
Quote:

Snowbird has the D- loop right. Disconnect the lines, open up the Velcro loops, and slide each loop over the leaders and the ends of the bar and then re-fasten the velcro to snug it up on the bar. (once you have a harness to use it with).

but now that I'm actually trying to do it, I'm not sure where the loop is supposed to end up. On the very ends, where the lines would be wrapped, or on the bar itself? It just seems like the velcro wouldn't do anything to hold the ends of the d-loop in place if there was any kind of heavy pull on it (the velcro would come un-done.) Any more tips? Picture:

Thanks!

Bring the ends of the D-loop to the bar itself. It will be centered at the midle of the bar with the ends of the loop about 8"-10'' apart. With the velcro snugged up tight it will hold well.

Let me grab the camera and run to the garage for a pic....

Sorry for the poor photo with long morning shadows, but you get the idea....

Remeber the loops are closed solid webbing, and the velcro only serves to hold it snug. The webbing takes the load.

Oh! That's funny, I was expecting the ends of the D-loop to stay at the ends of the bar, and not back towards the center. Thanks again Angus, that helps a lot.

A lot of people also choose to bring them both almost right together at the center of the bar :puzzled: I wouldn't recommend Rotating the bar when hooked in to a D-loop. I've been caught up that way by accident and it wasn't pretty. If you want to rotate hooked in they make a specific one for that as well.

I'm happy with mine set up as above.
