Flysurfer dream day

I went snowkiting yesterday but the wind was null and I knew it was going to raise slowly according to the forecast. So I went to meet and ride with a friend who own some Flysurfer kites as well a good hour drive from home.

The wind was slowly picking up and at about 5-6 knots, I am ready to launch my friend's Speed2 15m. I am told go ahead and have fun.

A few pumps and the kite is in the air. I step-in onto my board and that is enough to get me going. Wow I am impressed. I feel like I am just tiny child being pulled by the majestive aisle.

The wind picks up a little bit, and I am getting some good speed. You park the kite and ride. No need to sin the kite.

As I get familiar with the kite, and I am getting more speed and fun.

I didnot try to jump with the kite. But on my surprise, when I slowly brought it at midnight to change direction, a little gust took me up a good 5 feet in the air.

Wow just a nice floaty landing, I felt like up in the air forever falling down like a feather. The lift was smooth, and the landing even more.

I was riding the speed2 15m for about an hour. But I had to give it back. What a thrill I had.

The wind had picked enough for taking out my Psycho3 10m, which I rode for a 2 hours ride. Lot of fun in about 15 to 20knots.

My friend was flying his speed2 15m all that time and he never felt over.

Then the wind seriously picked up later in the afternoon. On the lake, it suddenly became all white power blowing away for a big minute. We could not see 100 yards far. Good we were close to the launching spot. 5th line right away.

The 25 knots forecast with 35 knots gusts were there. I packed up my P3 and swap to my Pulse 7m which is awesome when gusty. My friends swap to his Speed2 8m.

And we were set for another hour ride in some real gusty conditions.

That was my Flysurfer dream day. I kited with 3 different sizes , models and wind condition ranges in the same afternoon.

It's like I had made love to 3 womens at the same day I had love with my wife (Pulse), my mistress (Psycho3) and a perfect stranger (Speed2).

Last weekend, I went out with my SA2 15M and SA1 17M PZ 1.5 mod. Great day! SA1 17M 1.5 was used as a benchmark for other kiters. If it's up in the air, it's worth to try, if it's down..... why bother

SA2 15M is a great kite. Even when wind picked up, I felt comfortable staying out with it.

SA1 17M 1.5. Felt the same way + more pull than SA2 15M. SA1 17M 1.5 will be my main water kite for light wind day.

It was my first time trying out SA2 15M and I have to admit that I miss SA2 19M. I should have kept it for snowkiting (along with 15M) and use SA1 17M for water kite. Well~ lesson learned.

What were the winds like when you felt powered with the 15m? 11 - 13 mph?
