Now that I own my own depower kite, and a depower bar, I'm hooked, literally. I am looking at a few old inflatables for the summer, and was hoping to
save some cash by using one set of bar and lines. If I were to use my Flysurfer Bar, how would I secure the 5th line if the inflatable was not using
it? Would the bridals go crazy if lines weren't connected to it and packed away?
Any advice helps. Thanks!

By 5th line I expect you mean the FDS line?
I think the only way you could re-use the bar would be to disconnect the lines at the bar and use another set for the lei ? I don't think the lines
would cross over. With an LEI all 4 should be the same length.
Probably better and a lot simpler to buy a bar and line set for the LEI's.
If you are learning on the water and plan on picking up old C kites be SURE to get 5th line kites. Safer and easier to relaunch. Avoid Cabrina's recon
system.

Yup, FDS line.
I'm looking at Flexifoil Ion SLEs...if the price is right. A local is looking to get rid of them for cheap. I suppose I could put out the extra cash
for a bar and lines, but I wouldn't if my FS bar would suffice anyways...but thats not the case right now...looks like more saving!

It isn't impossible but it will take a lot of messing around to get it right, and if you're trying to get it right based on guesswork that's not too
good... also flysurfer lines connect differently and i personally don't like taking them off because that can lead to bad bad bridle tangles
I would try and find a cheap second hand bar and lines or a ready to fly inflato if you can!

You should try and find out how much travel is required for the Ion. Bows and SLE's usually require a longer throw than a regular C kite. So not just
any bar ( trim strap ) will work.

PZ,
You got any leashes? My 13 tore up my current one although I put a NASCAR repair
on it

is Duct Tape the Nascar preferred fixing material?
yes i have some leashes... they are "home-made" very close to FS and uses some old parts.
i'll upload a pic and put it in the Classifieds.
Barnes has one with his new 1.5 Speed 10m package perhaps he can comment.
