ok who po'ed the wind goddess?

art_lessing - 13-2-2008 at 09:43 PM

this is how windy it was..

1 .I went to fly today in this north wind. the wind was crazy so I went to fly the npw9 3.4 on the bridle. one bridle line snapped and then the power line popped off the left handle sending the darn thing into a death spiral.......birds nest to follow....I took off my gloves and sat down to detangle the wing. I gave up in a few minutes. and noticed my gloves had blown away.......far away to the point where I could not find them......... :flaming:.....gone forever...

2. I sat down in the buggy with my back to the wind. I held open my jacket and was blown 20 feet down wind.....

not a good day to fly....tomorrow will be better

and I hate nasa....does any body know of an alternate bridal configuration for the npw9...something thats not so tangle prone.....also

I went to fly the 2.0 legend and noticed that the parking lot asphalt has chewed through the bridle lines' .......word of warning to asphalt flyers...use cheap kites

I got in a few sessions the last couple of days the winds hasn't been the cleanest but never the less...

why are the bridles lines wearing out from the assphault :puzzled: should not be much of an issue unless its being drag around on the ground instead of being up in the sky...

I keep a look out for your gloves if they end up in cen-cal

East coast has been getting hammered to. You so-cal folks would have felt right at home with all the wildland fires this weekend.

48 mph yesterday Dan! I had to work! I just bought a npw. The bridles If you have to let go for what ever reason or if it spins around they will look like a mess and untangeling would be almost impossiable. I just keep twisting the handles to un tangle. That seem to work. It always looks way worse than it is. But in your case where the bridle broke yea you were pretty much through. Sorry to hear that. Hey wait, I think I see your gloves! Today was good also. elkiter wanted to check out the farm this weekend have you heard the forcast? You should have went there instead. KYTESLINGER, Just from launching and landing the bridles and kite has to go through hell. The wind is real shifty there so you cant her down for a secound without it sliding back and forth across the surface it is brutal yor right Dan cheap kites only.:borg:
