I think I'll go for a good shot of Tequilla instead of a Corona. I can't make NABX either. But think I know a good place to try out for buggying ,
kite boarding and tequilla shots the weekend after NABX...action jackson - 17-2-2008 at 06:44 PM

I figured you'd be there. Kewl! Go exploring the channels in the back more... or just in the open bay?action jackson - 17-2-2008 at 07:12 PM
All of the above, the channel had some nice 4 ft rollers and the the flat water was fast and flat. I did have a few times i ran into 1inch water while
doing close to thirty on the water. Triple barrel roll!.......................ajcoreykite - 19-2-2008 at 12:09 PM
Hey Sailors,
Just a friendly reminder that the playa is open pretty much year-round.
I mean, like at SLP, there's a regular group of passionate riders that are out nearly every weekend.
Landsailors, kite/buggiers, kitegroundboarders, even Blokarts.
Lake Mojave/6 Mile Cove is an hour from Ivanpah and the intermediate/advanced kiteboarders have a sweet spot when the winds come from the south.
I know the joy of having such a place as Ivanpah filled with kite friends from all over, but remember that we would be happy to have you come visit
and ride with us whenever.
Las Vegas is a good destination to find cheap fares.
I just used www.worryfreevacations.com to get a good price on a r/t flight to OKC.
Like the resort/casinos at the top of the lakebed... They are there to lure the travelers on I-15, headed to Vegas, to make a stop.
We merely benefit from that coincidence.
So no more whining about missing nabx.
Think about where it began... just a Dad wanting to have some time with his son before he got too old and moved on into his own life.
Maybe YOUR visit will begin another tradition.
What the heck do I know?
Safen Up! Buggy On!

Well said, Corey...I for one, definitely plan to get my kids hooked onto this sport as well. I often ask myself...how could anyone not like this sport
and not get hooked??kitegirl31 - 22-2-2008 at 06:43 PM
HEY! its not just for Fathers and sons! My Dad and I have been flying kites for 10 years and I wouldn't change it for the world!
it is hard for a teenager to grow up around kites. when my friends would want to go to the movies on friday nights i would say no and go fly kites
with my dad! It is wonderful. I never got into drugs or went to parties or any of the crap. It is really wonderful to just be a layed back person
waiting for the wind to blow.
