Floatation

Can anyone recommend floatation gear that can be worn with a waist/seat harness?
I have a health condition that keeps me off the water but I'd like to change that. Floatation that would keep my head above water without a lot of physical effort while I catch my breath would be the fix. Common PFD's seem awkward around a kiteboarding harness.

cabrinah has an impact vest harness, at first on the water its great very snug with very large back section. a bit bulky now that i have progressed but definitely has kept my back from being tweaked in the early learning stages. very floaty. it has good freedom of movement but not as much as waist or seat harness. a seat harness and a custom vest with more shoulder and upper back float my be a nice articulated set up. side entry wake board coat very trim waist section high mid back design. i believe a waist or seat could be used with it.

I have an O'neil impact vest that works well.

Dakine makes a very nice all in one harness impact vest . They are worth a look.

yea i had an o'neill for when i rode jet skis and wakeboarded i loved that thing very high on the back and im sure a seat harness would work with it.

It may be worth noting that most impact vests are NOT PFD rated !!!

I am not sure but think that is because they don't hold your head above water ??

not that im your doctor but if you shouldn't have your head under water for that long then maybe this sport in the water is'nt really the safest thing for you to do. but i think that any coast guard approved vest with a seat harness should work for you.

this is why I changed my harness for a dakine storm seat one.

it fits better with my life vest than my old harness (mysitc dragon shield seat) which goes higher in the back.
