I think I have taken for granted the abandoned airstrip about 20 minutes from me. According to their website, an amazing 243 acres. Trying to find the
length of the airstrip itself.
..Sent an email to get the stats, and to let them know that people are really enjoying the facilities...and that more people will be there is that
knew it was there. Perhaps some day I could hold some sort of kite buggy event, get the locals eyes open to what they have in their back yard.beachrights - 19-2-2008 at 08:37 AM
So who maintains it? It looks like it is in excellent shape!lunchbox - 19-2-2008 at 12:23 PM
Looks like an awesome place....lucky you! Now if you tell me that it's always blowing 13-15mph I'm going to shoot myself art_lessing - 19-2-2008 at 02:44 PM
take note about touching the kites to the asphalt...it will eat your bridle for lunch ..... if you are doing a low swoop and the kite touches the

I'm super careful about that.
The rides a little shakey, but in a buggy, I'd imagine its smooth as could be. I ride my skate board with 2" wheels, so thats shakey anywhere.
Winds are pretty bad. You're lucky to get a decent wind once a week..but I'm always ready to play around in crappy winds.
The offical length: 3400 feet = 0.643939394 miles
They don't seem to excited about it, they don't want people who don't know what they are doing to hurt the other guests on the airstrip (bikers
mostly.) Reasonable, but I'd love to run an event like I was saying earlier some day.Sthrasher38 - 21-2-2008 at 03:44 PM
