I went down Brunswick this weekend to pick up my new bug from Angus. I got there and we put it together. 5 min later we was off to the beach I had a great weekend and to tell ya the truth i think my little girl had a better
time than i did . She loved getting pulled around. Thanks again Angus Here is a vid i put together buggy on the beach
Wind was kinda light. I got to borrow a 8.3 reactor that got me going. my wife started shaking her head and smiling saying i guess there is another

How good the wind is at the island? We have a great beach, Wildwood beach, NJ but 90% of time, wind is not right direction. Wonder if it's the same

That was my first time there so i cant say alot on the wind conditions.Angus would be the one to ask. While i was there the wind was light in the
morning and picked up through out the day 4 to 5 in the morn and up to 10 on sunday evening and the wind from the east southeast. the beach was nice
and wide until high tide and its almost gone. we hit it at a good time could use the beach at around 8 to 9 am up until 5pm or so.lunchbox - 19-2-2008 at 12:04 PM

Chris, Heather and daughter Kansas were delightful guests and we had a good time.
Winter wind is random and un-predictable, driven mainly by random frontal systems, so we take what we can get.
Starting about now or a month or so, we move to the predominate conditions where the high pressure systems sit off the Carolinas, and their clockwise
rotation brings winds in from the NE to E.
Most common forcasts from NOAA are NE 10-15 kts but 8-12 is more common. Over 15 happens often enough too. The main part of the beach is about 5
miles long and angled from SSW to NNE so the perfet wind is ESE.
As it gets warmer, when the island heats in the afternoon, the sea-breeze effect kicks in and sucks the wind right off the water, ESE.
This last weekend was weak, but Sunday the Seabreeze kicked in and built it to 10 mph right off the water.
Oh, and by the way if you look at the video and don't see a lot of people, this was actually a crowded day by common measure due to the holiday
weekend and good weather. Summer time there are more people but still room to buggy- a couple of football feilds of space even on July 4th weekend.
Beach is small at low tide but you can buggy from half-out to half in and that will give you 6-8 hours or more depending on tide range that day.
Local Govt. is very kite friendly.
$3 a day parking on the island gets you plenty of parking, beach access, water and bathrooms. Picnic area. Campground with WiFi and all amenaties on
north end of island.
Hotels on the island can cost, but motels 12 miles away are $52 range per night for room with fridge and microwave, clean and neat.

We can't buggy at Wildwood beach during Summer due to crowd. I am thinking about driving down there for a couple of days in Summer for my kite

Look at my Avatar photo. It is an August day and is crowded, but I am on "Kite Beach" a section about 1/4 mile between two public access ramps that
does not get a lot of sunbathers, but just the occasional biker, dog walker and so forth and they are usually at the surf line. The crowds are to the
left and right of me. This is a typical sea-breaze day as evidenced by the thunderstorm it is feeding off my right shoulder. Wind is 10-15 and I am
doing over 30.
Here is an air veiw of kite Beach, indicated by the "bump" on the beach indicating where the sand bar is exposed at low tide. This is Eclipse Kite
demo day last year and those are LEIs in the middle of the area. This is with tide about 2/3 out. Sunbathers crowd to the right (south) and left,
leaving "our" section usually open. But it can happen that someone will spread a blanket right in the middle but we can't do anything about that. In
this photo, most of the people on the Kite Beach are kite peeps.

Its a great place to go. we are already planning to go back in the spring for some more beach ridding and again around Sept. Ridding is fun but alot
better when there is other around to buggy with. sometimes when im out flying one of my kites it gets old with no one around
