Smart Setup

Inspired by Sthrasher's experience with the PL dragging him out I thought I'd offer this. Make sure you set up not only where downwind is clear, but also a good radius around you. I say this as I think back to Saturday where I saw 13m Flysurfer, self-right itself as a poor guy was setting up. The kite was pretty inflated by this point, flipped way up and over, crosswind somehow and slammed down onto a nearby parked truck. All I really remember was the sound and seeing the kite draped over the roof and hood, JUST missing the radio antenna which surely would have put a new inflation point in the kite.

Yeah I've seen my kite do a little skipping when parked on a ground stake. Now if I'm going to park it for a little bit to take a break I weight the corners.
