joecat - 5-3-2008 at 07:37 PM

Check out one of 14 videos filmed on the North East Coast of the U.S. One of the largest beaches in New Jersey. This song is a classic from the Sixties.

Any feedback or comments would be apprecicated,,,, always looking for new ideas for filming or mounting suggestions.

I like the mount with the camera shooting off to the side. It's nice to see the kite + it gives a good senation of speed.

With a beach like that you must feel like life has really come together !

I agree,,, the side shot is nice with the kite,,, there is no view finder on the camera so its hit and miss if I get it angled the right way to get the kite in. I also like the low shots it gives a good sensation of speed also.

You could stick a pole out the back of the buggy with a fish eye lens and get the buggy, you, and the kite.

it's joe cats vid, just posted it to the forum.

Hey Eli, Thats pretty cool that you can do that..... How do you get it on there? Thanks.

Joe.

Wexler,,,, the cam is mounted on a pole onto the rear axle. The only problem is that the longer the pole the more vibration I get.. I had to shorten up the pole for that reason which cuts down on the amount I can get into the lens close up..... Good idea though,,, I will keep working on that view where all three are in the view finder.

On a side note, Freebird was written in 1970 and released on the "Pronounced" album in 1973. Ranked 191 all time by Rolling Stone but higher on my list.

I have the Oregon Y2K without a view finder and have had my vids either pointing to high or too low or even getting the horizon level.

What I did was to set up the cam at home & shoot a bit of vid up the street, down load the clip on my home PC to see what it was doing. Eventually, I positioned the cam to where I wanted it after a few clips & back & forth to the PC. I then used a marker on my bugyy to record the location. This works well & I can set up the cam when I reach my buggying spot just by aligning the cam with the marks I'd made on my buggy.

hey Sand-Yeti,,, good idea....... I will give it a shot. Yesterday myself and two others had a really good day on my beach here in New Jersey. Winds were about 30mph at times,,,, 2meter kites,,,got some good video but haven't made any films yet,,, working on that... But with the speed we had yesterday,,,, there is going to be some unavoidable vibrations,,, but it was still good... our top speed yesterday was about 34mph.
