Jumping 'Must know how'

USA_Eli_A - 6-3-2008 at 12:45 PM

I'll start this by asking if anyone knows what a PFL is? And why it's important for scuddlers to know?

Bladerunner - 6-3-2008 at 01:03 PM

First I need to figure out what a scuddler is :?: ;)

wexler - 6-3-2008 at 01:05 PM

I think he means scudder as in sliding across the sand. I have never heard of a scuddler?:puzzled:

USA_Eli_A - 6-3-2008 at 01:20 PM

then what's it called, "feet skiing"??

PFL??????

wexler - 6-3-2008 at 01:22 PM

No im saying that a scudd is when you slide across the sand. I have never heard of a scuddler:puzzled:

USA_Eli_A - 6-3-2008 at 01:28 PM

Saved my leg, its amazing what you remember you can do when your about to hurt yourself. (I learned a few years ago and just popped into my head after a nice 20 foot loft w/ my 8 meter. Still sprained my ankle though.

LEARN IT!!!!

dman - 6-3-2008 at 05:08 PM

THAT DUDE CAN BUST IT LIKE A MOFO!!!!!!! If I could have danced like that in high school all the ladies would've been in trouble!

Actually I have had to use that after a low level reserve chute deployment while paragliding. lost 1000 ft. of altitude in a couple of seconds and the reserve opened just before I hit the deck but I still walked away because of the pfl training. It didn't stop the deep tissue bruise I had from my heel to my scapula that lasted for 6 months.

BeamerBob - 7-3-2008 at 05:45 AM

No one ever taught me how to do this but I've used it twice since Christmas. Both times, I rolled like that and got back around in time to not let the kite touch the ground. The first time I was in shorts and barely scuffed my knee. I imagine you could take quite a fall if you really did it right.

Sthrasher38 - 7-3-2008 at 09:39 AM

So do they have one for Obe's? When I got yanked out my leg got bend out from hitting the down tube on top of slamming into the ground didn't have much time to think.

torisspacedog - 18-4-2008 at 02:28 AM

When I skydived it was a Parachute Landing Fall PLF and I'm sticking to my story.

gross213 - 20-4-2008 at 12:29 PM

But we aren't flying parchutes, we are flying power kites. So sholdn't it be 'Power kite landing fall' and renamed pklf. :flaming:

USA_Eli_A - 20-4-2008 at 01:35 PM
