Three of them in fact.
Background - all three are to be laminated 1/4" ply. 140, 145, & 150 X 39, 40, 41
Quick questions. Holes for fins & footstraps - before or after rocker (on the two I'm going to try rockering)
Rockering - should I bother at all?
Edge finish - I read on the Kiteboarding school board build thread that the top down edge worked best but required tip rocker to prevent submarining -
true? What other edge finishes should I consider?
Painting w/ exterior latex - can this then be varathaned to gloss right up and look all professional?
Thanks for your help. I'll start posting "in progress" photos.

Here is what I understand:
Before rocker
I wouldn't put any in at all as the board will flex under load and w/ some
rocker in it already it will be too much, flat is the way to go, if you prefer
a small rocker that is. If your into MAJOR rocker, put it in. I might do it on
one just to see.
I have heard as far as graphics go, that skateboard paint works well as it
doesn't lay down thick and lumpy, you would need to sand latex. Or perhaps
try enamel. Then varnish over that with 3 coats on the top and 5 on the edges
and bottom. I would just do the whole thing 5 if ur gonna invest the time in
the other sides.
Good luck!
I would do it but I can't justify it living in Colorado.

The plan then:
150 - no rocker, 5cm taper at tips leaving 70cm center side rail almost straight
145 - no rocker, 4.5cm taper at the tips leaving 70cm center side rail almost straight
140 - with 1.5" tip rocker, 3.5cm taper at the tips leaving 70cm center side rail almost straight and flat
Holy moly did it ever take a ton of glue to laminate the ply! Only had one bottle and was only able to do the 150. Off to the hardware store......

Why did u get individual sheets? Why not just a piece of 1/2 inch ply?

I wasn't 100% sure of the rocker / non rocker thing so I figured that would do in case rocker was the plan. You can bet I'll try a 1/2" board too.

I think I mite make a 1/2 inch ply board, there has got to be a lake around here and then when I do go to water I will have a board. Maybe a nice 2
sided finish exterior board with a dark cherryish stain and a few coats of varnish. Then some windsurf straps (probably yellow) and finish it off with
a nice:

In yellow, right between the footstraps.

Too bad you couldn't find some cam lock system to mount a set of mountain board trucks. Or make a two sided board - one side with footstraps and fins
but when you flip it you'd have foot straps and wheels!
Speaking of fins....finless or fins? I've read no fins but wonder if they might help the learning curve to start out or would they hinder it. I have a
set so it's optional to me at this point.

I would put the mount on all the boards (assuming they are the screw in type). Then you can use them on all the boards and see which style you like,
if you really hate it and are really worried about a little bit of drag you can fill the hole with epoxy and sand it down.
