Revolution Blast

dblcrona - 10-3-2008 at 04:58 PM

A few years ago I sold a Rev 2. To this day I reget ever parting with this kite. I want to buy another Rev, but I want something big, fast, powerful and able to fly in a wide range of winds. It looks to me that the Revolution Blast is just that kite. I'd love to hear from anyone who owns one what they think. Thanks for your feedback.

I have a power blast, rev1.5, and supersonic my son has a power blast 2-4 and power blast 4-8 plus a shockwave. So I have flown all of them. The one that is the most fun to fly is the Power Blast 2-4 the Blast is good but the 2-4 is better in light winds because it floats better. Since the Blast is mine I have flown it more but I would still like to have my own 2-4. That is not to say the blast is a bad kite but in the gusty switchy inland winds the 2-4 has more range. I know it is a lot more money but I would save up and get the 2-4. BTW the blast is more fun that the Rev 1.5, supersonic or shock wave IMHO, so I don't think you would be disapointed with the blast.

the question is, what kind of winds do you normally have, and do you want to be able to buggy with it?

As my dad said, the 2-4 is probably the best low wind Rev, appart from the specialized light wind modles. I can make it fly it a lick of wind, and I've used it in 20mph+ winds and hit 40mph+ on the playa with it. Below 10mph it's a very responsive fast Rev capable of everything you'd expect from a Rev.

If what you want is to be able to stunt fly your rev in 10-15 or 20mph winds, then the blast would be a better choice. And over 20mph winds you can go buggy with it. (less if you're not wookie sized like me!)
