Landboard costs??

Lobo - 14-3-2008 at 09:49 PM

I know it's a dumb newbie question....but, gosh :wow: why does a landboard cost as much, or almost as much as a decent buggy????? At least the better ones do??

MBS / GI Board around $400 - 550 ... PL XR+ $600

You should throw that in the PKC links Rip'!

sodfarmkiter - 15-3-2008 at 08:37 AM

I paid 200 for my ground industries board, and I've only been on it twice. The boards not for me I'm a buggy guy! I'd probably get rid of it for 125.00 and it comes with street and dirt wheels.

that's a very good price for sodfarmers board. it's gotalot-o-goodies

ah....Lobo...I sent you a U2U with links

BeamerBob - 15-3-2008 at 12:51 PM

sodfarmkiter, u2u sent.

Lobo - 15-3-2008 at 09:18 PM

Thanks USA_Eli_A....I got the info via U2U.

BeamerBob...are you gonna buy this thing right out from under me???? :tumble: Ha! If it's a good deal....you deserve it. Not sure I'm ready for it yet....haven't even got a kite. But, if Bob decides no....I might be interested, sodfarmkiter.

I sent him a U2U after he mentioned it. For the price, it would be fun to try. No response yet though. It might not be for me either. I've never been on one before. I'd fully pad up if I headed down the field with it. AAAAAnd a helmet. Where can I get one of those Michelin man suits?:D

Lobo - 16-3-2008 at 10:53 AM

Padding.....me too!! Yeah, I'm not so sure I really need to go the board route. Kinda thinking more in the buggy, but less places to ride...at least seems that way. And I would need the folding buggy.....and not sure what you "lose" in quality by having a folding one. I don't intend to get it off the ground, and only weigh about 160 lbs., so probably don't need too stout a buggy anyway.

I also sent him a U2U to let him know I might be interested if you decided no on it.....haven't heard back either.

USA_Eli_A - 16-3-2008 at 11:00 AM

padding. you will see me in a full face helmet this year. I recommend a nice full face, hillbilly ass padz and knee pads at the least.

sodfarmkiter - 16-3-2008 at 01:01 PM

I believe it was sold as an AK 103 when i bought it but on this link they call it a AK street complete http://www.mtbz.com/ground_industries/index.htm
and like I said i have the dirt wheels also, if you click on the AK street those pics are of the one I have. Let me know if your still interested.Tim

strictlycarved - 16-3-2008 at 01:04 PM

i bought the same board from those guys. the board is kinda heavy but i gets the job done. i hope to upgrade soon though. like a comp 90.

Lobo - 16-3-2008 at 02:12 PM

Hey Bob....this ain't quite the Michelin man suit....but gets half the job done....not so sure it's the most important half...ha!

The back axle of the regular PL buggy pops off in 30 sec with no tools- the same amount of time it takes to fold the folding buggy for roughly the same space. Both versions require just the loosening of some straps

her you go don't know if they'll work for sure. http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj11/sodfarmkiter/101_046...

yes...that's a good step in the right direction. you can upgrade with new stuff if you'd like...If that's $125 I'd get it. In fact I might!
