Well....I ordered a NPW5 4.8 meter while waiting on my Beamer III 3m?!?!?
I mean.....I just bought my 2nd kite and I don't even have the 1st one yet???? What's happening to me??? Nobody said this was part of the deal!!
:wow:
Do I need to see a doctor or one of those head shrinks??
You folks should warn a newbie about this stuff!!! I feel helpless!! But, it kinda feels good....:tumble: Ha!
I'll get the NPW before the Beamer comes in. Couldn't wait on the Beamer to get a kite. The price is good too. And I do intend to be buggying as
soon as I can be. I know....I know. I will only go out in very light winds with this since I've never even held a power kite beofre.
What do ya think. If I stay within 4 to 8mph....I'll be safe...probably?
Anyway, somebody should put a permanent post on this forum warning us newbies about this "urge". And to think that when I first started reading in
this forum I said to myself...."self...what in the world do these folks have all these kites for??? Ya can't fly but one at a time???"
No warning.....no warning. Shame on you!!!!!

Yes, it's part of the deal. Most people do get some type of warning but you must have slipped through the cracks. Now you know.
You could just return both kites unopened and be done with this maddness! Although something tells me that it's probably already to late for you.

I'm the same way. I just decided which kite I was going to get my first when I found out I was going to get an unexpected payday, and now I'm combing
through postings looking for a second kite to buy them both at the same time!
Ugh... I can't wait!!BeamerBob - 17-3-2008 at 05:44 AM
I can look back but I thing I did warn you. I didn't think you would order your second one so soon. I gave you a month or two. There aren't any
help groups for this either. A buddy did the same thing. Flew with me on Saturday and ordered 3 kites the next week. It doesn't end so don't bother
saying "no more".Lobo - 17-3-2008 at 02:53 PM
Ha! You probably did, Bob....but, I was blinded by the glitter of it all...heh heh. Thanks for the effort. We'll see what the future holds. If
it's anything like you guys are enjoying, then it'll be real good!

My friend you are hooked on SKYCRACK! There is no cure, soon you will develop the work ethic of a stoned surfer. Until you realize that without money
,no more kites. Then you will work, against your will, only to buy more kites.Wait until the sound of the wind at night, won't let you sleep! Welcome
to the club. The wife won't let me have RIPSTOP sheets! Man ,I need a gust!:alien:Sthrasher38 - 17-3-2008 at 03:58 PM
Yea, I fell into the same trap! You will have 5 or more before you even start slowing down. And that will still not be enough. And as far as warning
goes its posted all over this forum. Do you see anyone on here except for newbs that dosen't have more than 3 kites? It will go like this: I need a
power kite to learn on. Then I need one to jump with. I need one for low wind. I need one for high wind. I want one I really like! I would like to try
the buggy. Scudding and jumping just does not cut it anymore. Then you get a buggy. Or a land board or a kite board for water most likely both. Then
you'll start knowing what you like and either start selling what you have to to get (Oh yes) Another kite. And just keeping the ones you really love.
Thats what happend to me. I hope I don't get in trouble for giving up the whole ordeal on how it goes with kiting. Imo. That just seems to be how it
goes. pretty close guys? Now you have been warned!! Not a bad thing just an addiction!:D I don't want it to sound like a pain because I love it I hope
it never ends. Almost forgot then you got to an event and it starts all over again! At least thats what I am hoping for!WELDNGOD - 17-3-2008 at 04:26 PM
your addiction will be compounded by access to lots of cash.Lobo - 17-3-2008 at 05:56 PM
Ahhhhh.....nice prediction there WELDNGOD!

somebody get his credit card quick!I got the scissors;-)scissorfighter - 18-3-2008 at 05:31 PM
I think it's referred to as KAS. Kite Acquisition Syndrome. Symptoms of this disease include, but are not limited to:
Itching or burning sensation in right rear pants pocket
Inability to concentrate
Easily distracted by wind blowing through tree-tops
Irritable significant other
Loss of appetite
Do not attempt to treat KAS without consulting a health care professional. Your doctor may want to slowly decrease
your dose to help avoid symptoms such as agitation, confusion, dry mouth, sweating, nausea, seizures, fasciculation and insomnia.Lobo - 18-3-2008 at 08:30 PM
Wow, scissorfighter! That sounds like me to a "T". And I always thought I was such a strong person.
Just goes to show you never really know a person, even if you walk for 60 years in their moccasins. :wow:
By the way, WELDNGOD...looks like "scissorfighter" is on MY side.....so, you might as well put those scissors up.....hee.
Couldn't be better timing for his name, hunh?!?!? :singing:

It's a curse more than anything but you learn to live with it ; )
I started in October I think........amazing I still have room in the house for the wife after my quiver swelled. Welcome to it!dylanj423 - 19-3-2008 at 05:46 AM
Youre screwed mate. Just like most of us. I had no idea how much $ i would be spending at this stuff. 6 months ant over 2k later... I still have to
stop myself from buying any more stuff.
The good news is once you get 4 or 5 kites and at least one mode of kite transport it gets easier.
Just do yourself a favor and buy the good stuff first, I'm currently replacing a lot of my equipment that doesnt quite measure up.
Have fun, and be safe.Lobo - 19-3-2008 at 08:39 PM
Naw, I ain't got it bad. Last night, still waiting on a kite to get here and winds were high, for here.....10 to 15 with gusts to 30 or 40. So, I
look in my trunk and find a small single line kite I've had for years.....about 1 1/2' X 1 1/2' at the head with a 15' tail that gets smaller as it
goes out.....hung a little keychain LED on it....loaded about 300' of line (wishing I had 1,000') on it and set her in the air. That was about 7:15
pm......brought her down well after dark at about 9 pm.
So, how could you possibly think I am hooked???? It wasn't even a power kite!?!??
Lobo :singing:WELDNGOD - 20-3-2008 at 10:29 AM
