Your other hobbies

wexler - 20-3-2008 at 04:07 PM

I was just wondering what everyones hobbies are besides kiting.
Mine are "skateboarding for life", drum playing, wake boarding, slalom skiing, gun sooting(my 20 guage and my dads 12 guage shot guns and my dads 40 cal pistol), disc golf, and camping.:D

I was lucky enough to scarf one of those pepper grinders. Awesome, and it does a great job with those peppercorns as well.

My hobbies are water skiing, wakeboarding, barefooting, mtn biking, roller blading (not with a kite yet), camping, and I like having the best lawn on the street.

AirHunter - 20-3-2008 at 05:40 PM

thanks Thrasher. Sells for more than a Blaze 3.0... but for you... interested in a little bartering?

BeamerBob - 20-3-2008 at 05:50 PM

AirHunter if you want to keep flying whatever I'm not flying, you gotta spell my name right.:P

Sthrasher38 - 20-3-2008 at 06:03 PM

A pen more than a kite? I don't write that many checks.

KYTE SLINGER - 20-3-2008 at 06:39 PM

well right now it been sewing ripstop but I need a better machine ....

I hit the gun range once a week and like everything else I love tweaking out long guns like ARs and tactical bolt actions... both my wife and son both shoot long guns as well...some of the guys at the gun club don't like to sit next to her for fear of making them look bad:lol: SHE's that good

also I fly sport kites, quads, fighters SLKs and even fly indoors... tour along the west coast to many kiting events doing demos in all aspects of kiting and once again my wife and son both fly quads

Sthrasher38 - 20-3-2008 at 06:44 PM

Lucky man! I just talked to Dlish and he said your the man he had a good time today. I wish I could have been there I have came a long way from the day we met at the beach when I had sand all over my face. But I still only have hours in the bug not years like you. Stay cool and stay SLINGIN.

BeamerBob - 20-3-2008 at 06:48 PM

Oh yeah, I shoot skeet as well. Won the family championship for the second year running last Thanksgiving. Wexler came in second in the money round. And he was using my gun instead of his!

kitemaker4 - 20-3-2008 at 07:21 PM

Well beside sewing kites and riding in the buggy I am in two chorale groups that sing classical music. This keeps me out of trouble and happy.

SPONGEBOB!!!!

"The best cartoon ever created.

BeamerBob - 21-3-2008 at 04:33 AM

Oh, I beg to differ. Bugs bunny or Yosemite Sam have to be the greatest ever. Spongebob certainly deserves an honorable mention though.

cloudswinger - 21-3-2008 at 07:45 AM

I was sewing ripstop recently to make some ultralight camping gear. But generally I do martial arts and circus arts. Like Flying Trapeze, and all sorts of other aerial and ground acts.

crazymanme2 - 21-3-2008 at 09:34 AM

I race boats in the summer time. The class is 25 SSH.Speeds reached are between 65 to 73 MPH.On my other days I fly my aerobatic airplane or go rock climbing.

feral - 21-3-2008 at 10:24 AM

Outside kiting, my life revolves around my horses which my dad and I keep we have about 6 at the minute and they take a lot of looking after especially as mine is a stallion which needs to be kept seperate from the rest. Other than that, I do windsurfing, archery, scouts, air cadets (which means flying, gliding and 100 mile marches) and every so often doing something really random with a few friends (our last one was going to see a pantomime dressed as if it was the last night of the opera/victorian). Thats about it.

That is like a jet ski on steroids.

crazymanme2 - 21-3-2008 at 03:04 PM

Except way more fun.Imagine coming into the turn at over 65mph with another boat just 3 to 5 feet from you going around the curve at the same time, and accelerating down the straight to come into a turn to do it all over again.

Crash - 21-3-2008 at 03:37 PM

Your not kidding with how much care horses need ,My family has owned a few along with my sister who's a trainer .Like paying rent with expence but "Very" rewarding. I've worked with lots of exotic animals but the first time I was nipped in the ribbs and then it kicked right threw the 2x8 plank like it was balsa wood,They got my "Respect" !

Sthrasher38 - 21-3-2008 at 06:10 PM

As some of you know, one of my main 'hobbies' is leatherworking (if you can call it that, because it's not my main source of income, but does pay for itself with a little room left over.) I'd post a picture, but a website's a lot easier.

http://www.browncowart.com

I've also been slowly getting into blacksmithing and metal working over the past few years. I do a bit of wood working, though most of that centers around practical this, not fine woodwork. I also do bit of painting, sculpting, etc when time permits.

My bread and butter is web design, programming, animation, illustration and graphic design.

At least once a year I do t-shirt design ;-) (and currently have 5 boxes full ready to haul out to the playa)

Crash - 22-3-2008 at 02:07 AM

Cool ! 5 of them shirts is for me ,can't wait to see what the theme is this year .TTYS

Lobo - 22-3-2008 at 08:40 AM

Now this is interesting, seeing what all y'all do when the wind is down.

Well, not much on my part.....actually....I'm an astronaut on the side....;-)

Well, maybe more like....a love of music, mainly Old Time and Bluegrass (but I pretty much like it all). Play Banjo, guitar, autoharp, keyboard....and a few other instruments. The most relaxing is a Native American Flute.....it can be very haunting and beautiful.

I love Spelunking. Spent many hours alone in caves....couldn't get anybody else to go where I was caving.

Used to Scuba Dive...haven't in a long time. Tried Powered Paragliding, and still kite the paraglider....sold the motor.

Enjoy electric RC planes! Got a WWII Corsair that makes me wanta throw down the radio and run when I dive at myself.

Enough....I'm enjoying reading all of y'alls adventures!!

Great thread Wexler....thanks!
