Next kite?

Sthrasher38 - 23-3-2008 at 09:28 AM

Well, you can see my quiver. What would be a good next kiteTo fit in there? I have a few ideas of coarse but would like some suggestions. I love jumping I like going fast I would like something in the middle. in the 5-7or8 meter range. I won't be getting anything until after Nabx but would like to have some ideas. Everyone kinda knows me so I thought I would ask what you think.

Thanks.

I think you should take the depower dive. I've been obsessed with depower ever since I got my Speed...so a depower foil would be my suggestion.

Does a depower make a big kite useable in most conditions?

acampbell - 23-3-2008 at 10:19 AM

yeah size for size in more conditions, what with de-power and adjustability. I'll have my 9.5 m Montana 3 at NABX and you are welcome to take it out for a spin. Maybe the Apex 7.5 too if I do not bust weight limits.

Oh, and I'll have my Reactor 8.3 and 4.9 if you want to try. Great buggy engines...

Great! a quick lesson on depower and I'll try. I have never even seen one. 9 days 8 hrs 21min.

I'm also sold on Depower and Flysurfer.

I hope to end up with an extra small and extra large fixed bridle book ending something like a 7 pulse and 15m Flysurfer SA

My 1st thought for you was the Blade IV 8.5 ?

Sthrasher38 - 24-3-2008 at 04:12 PM

8.5? What is wrong with the 6.5? I think I might like that one more. Depower (huh)? Are you getting any use out of that 7m Bullet?

nhlrule56 - 24-3-2008 at 04:28 PM

Most of the kites in my quiver have been regular fixed bridle. I added the 9.5m Sabre2 as my first depower kite and I have to say I love it. I didn't realize just how much more upper body strength it takes though. It's use has been pretty much been for buggying, skudding, and mountain board. I just added a second Sabre2 5m for the higher wind days. I am still a little intimidated by the 7m Bullet and 9.5m on high wind days as where I typically fly, the wind is blowing me into the ocean. Yeah I can swim, but would rather do it on my terms. The Sabre2 has been a good kite, however the bridle could be less complicated. It has 6 pulley's, three on each side. If you go with an Ozone Access or Frenzy, you get less complication...but at a higher cost. I am not sure how much the comparable HQ would cost. The Sabre2 does have nice lift if you are interested in freestyle or some good jumps.

Good luck

Thanks! For the insight.

10 or 12m Frenzy or manta :karate:

tridude - 27-3-2008 at 05:29 AM

Not sure what your budget/avg winds are but Ill lobby the Flysurfer Psycho 3s and Montana 3 9.5 or 12.5. ACampbell probably has the most bar time on the M3 9.5 that I know. Great kites and price. I will say the 8m Psycho 3 is amazingly fast, stable, huge windrange, and very lifty (speed induced). I know theres no such thing as a 1 kite quiver but the 10m P3 is probably pretty darn close!!

The Pulse is still new but I think that the seven 5 and 4.5 will spend a lot of time in the bag now !

Sthrasher38 - 27-3-2008 at 03:15 PM

Manta, Psycho3, and pulse. Ok thanks I'll check them out.

Bladerunner - 27-3-2008 at 03:52 PM

If the winds are right I'll give you a shot at my 7m Pulse at NABX.

Nice! quite the offer. What do you mean "if" you know the wind is going to be good this year. and what is right? When are you leaving? And thanks very much. I would like that.:borg:
