Pansh Ace 3.5m and Blaze 5m

SCREWYFITS - 28-3-2008 at 01:07 AM

Alright...

Hello all, I'm new to the site and my first post is about this Pansh brand of kites and another member.
Let me tell you a lil about myself and my experience. I've been flying for about 4 years and have a Flexifoil Bullet 1.5m and 7m also have a Naish 13m ILE (inflatable leading edge) for kiteboarding. The foils are a lot of fun but the 7m only comes out when at the beach cuz its... crazy strong. And the 1.5m doesn't matter where it comes out its gets tore up where ever I go. I consider myself a good flyer, also I fly these with a bar.

Now... this Pansh brand I was skeptical due to the price and lack of information provided on these. A lot of people on the forums put it down and others talk it up... what do ya do.

Well the OCD that I am, I get a hold of this guy on ebay that lives a hour away... and see if he'll let me pick one up less shipping. He suggested I come out and fly one first and yeah... no shipping if I pick up. Well... we hook up at a park a lil closer to me, bout 45 min. I get there, this guy was out flying the Blaze 5m and from the parking lot, it gave me the excited felling of this is gonna be fun. It was a lil gusty due to the dirty air from the houses and trees. He was setting the kite down as I walked up. He introduced himself... Hi I'm Dino!!! Well Dino is the MAN!!! great guy to talk to and if I wouldn't of had a shirt that day I believe he woulda gave me his!!! You all know him as "dlish89" here on the forum...

Now as for these kites I gotta say BOOOOYA!!! or SCOOOORE!!! I was gonna hold that till afterwards, oh well... I take the Ace 3 by the handles and give it a good tug then the wind was giving me a bigger tug back... now me being used to a bar, I'm pulling the wrong handle and well... you know. I finally get my bearings and start rippin this kite, well this kite RIPS!!! I pulls like the titanic going down... its got lift lots of lift. It was hard to find a resting spot, very extreme for a kite this size. Turned O.K. after a few min I set it down... Talked it up a few more then grab the handles of the Blaze 5m. Up it goes great pull, less lift, very similar in power but much easer to handle I kinda learn the break while turn trick. Very nice kite gonna have to get me few of these... now after a few more min of shootn the bull I grab the Ace 3m again, me and the Ace had a lil thing going on... I liked her, so I tooker for another and she took me for another... well if you were in bed doing the wild thing with a gal and yelled her sisters name thats the ride I went for plus I had the added benefit of knowing the break turn this time. Turns on an inside out dime. MAN what a blast. I think I held a lot of this excitement inside as to not look like a lil school girl getting excited. O.K. now... BOOOOYA!!! SCOOOORE!!!

The quality of these kites compared to the best of any I've come across, just well built, no frills or bell and whistles. I've seen some ILE kites that looked better quality but your talS-P-A-M-L-I-N-K-n $1500. Lines looked quality, the handles kinda reflected the price but thats all good I doubt you'll breaS-P-A-M-L-I-N-K-em.

Well I was a lil disappointed because the hard-on I had to have a bunch of these... I could only go home with an Ace 5m. If he woulda had an Ace 2 an Ace 3.5 a Blaze 3 a Blaze 5, I'da droped some dough... well not that much dough... they are inexpensive. So I got my reservations in for a few more, I cant wait till Dino gets the next order, I'm gonna get a nice quiver. So we'll be talS-P-A-M-L-I-N-K-n Dino...

Well I can't say I was disappointed, I feel I made a friend and found a great kite for an even better price. So Dlish89/Dino, Thank you greatly, and excited to met up again for more kite'n and put a lil more dough in your pocket. Love to go with ya on a buggy run some time also.

As far as the kites go... they're all me and I fully recommend these, and if you get a chance to fly one you'll buy'em.

Thanx Dino for everything,
Dirk

dlish is a great guy. You didn't get an inaccurate snapshot of him. He's in it for the fun and to help others like you. He was more excited about flying with you and seeing that little schoolgirl look on your face than selling you a kite. Welcome! There are better made kites but the Pansh kites fill a niche at a great price point. They aren't good for beginners but you aren't so they will be a good start for you. Remember, you are only getting started now.

Sthrasher38 - 28-3-2008 at 07:44 AM

Nice to know we have another in the area. Dlish and I going flying alot and would love to have more company glad you like the kite and if you get a chance try the 3m Blaze Its sparky in 15-20 mph wind. Oh, and welcome to the forum.

DAKITEZ - 28-3-2008 at 01:23 PM

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I do enjoy watching others as much as I do kiting myself. Ya sthrasher we have another local. I think once we get screwyfits used to some handles he will be about as crazy as you.
screwy once we get you in a buggy you will be busting out that pipe bender you were talking about

Sthrasher38 - 28-3-2008 at 02:38 PM

Is he going to go tomorrow if we hook up? There was one other person also I can't remember who but it was not Elkiter.(sorry I forgot) If I read up I can find you.:P

NPWfever - 28-3-2008 at 02:47 PM

Handles can break though, not a biggy but after about 6 months of use on my 8m the knots pulled through. Just replace the leaders with paracord and a bigger knot. Just be carefull happened to me on a jump, good thing I had that strop line in, knot saved my a$$. I do really like my Ace though, put it on a bar and its a sick snowkite. One of my bridles broke, emailed them and a new bridle is on the way. :D

Great kites (for their price)
Useable lines
Good handles
and AMAZING customer service

Welcome to the forum screwy!

Bladerunner - 28-3-2008 at 04:46 PM

I don't know what handles you got with the 8m but the handles that came with my 5m Ace are the worst I have seen. Very thin, cheap leaders through rough holes. Not exactly something I'd feel safe jumping with but they are usable.

Handle are less than $20 so it isn't a big deal. Wait until you see average handles from reputable kite companies NPW. You will see what I mean.

beware of pansh.....too many bad kites coming through our shop......

crazymanme2 - 28-3-2008 at 05:36 PM

I've been happy with my Blaze 8.5.Been flyin it for about 3 months and no issues but i've heard the older ones had issues with bridle and flying lines.

SCREWYFITS - 28-3-2008 at 06:40 PM

Hello all and thanx for the welcome,

I agree the handles are cheep but the bar on my Flexi 1.5 wore out already and it seems of good quality so... as in life we use and abuse, but I feel a whole lot better wearing out something that didn't take a lot of dough. The performance difference between handles seems like it would be hard to engineer better preforming handles, maybe outlasting or higher quality. The handles are far from being a deal breaker (I think you all agree) Plus I'll make my own billet aluminum handles just to be a lil bling or "SCREWY"...

Any how I'd love to try any and every kite I possibly can. This is a great sport being the cost of gas is so ridiculous (lets not go here I'll go on a rampage) and this is free power and falls in the extreme fun category or adrenalin junkie sports...

I've got so many hobbies its ridiculous but some just fall into the "fave" category. I love speed and power... Ohh and POWER!!!!

Sthrasher38, thanx for the welcome and no I'm not going tomorrow but sounds like fun. I work on fri, sat & sun nights 6pm-6am but I'm game during the week after 2:45pm most of the time... I'd be ecstatic to hook up and fly with fellow kiter's.

I live the motto, he who has the most toys wins... I got a ways to go...

Also I fully believe in paying for quality but to give the rich money to get richer I'm not down with that... most of these companies are gouging us just like the software and gas industries. Yes, I do believe they spend money on engineering and R&D. I think china is messing things up also... SORRY let me stop there "no politics" just good clean FUN!!!

sorry bout that...

Clean air all,
Dirk

Sthrasher38 - 29-3-2008 at 08:19 AM

Work on the weekends that sux. I work all week but do take a day off sometimes due to wind we will hook up soon.

SCREWYFITS - 29-3-2008 at 03:05 PM

Yeah... it Sux, but it nice too. 3 days on 3 days off 4 on 4 off and I go do all my fun stuff while everyone is working, so anywhere I go its all mine... Its only 5 mo out of the year then we all rotate, so everyone gets every shift.
July... I go to weekday nights, so I'll be doing everything I can with everyone I can... Gotta give time to my wife though, shes the best, she lets me do whatever I want. I gotta keep that in mind most of the time or I'll loose track of time.
Right now I got Dlish89's to hang with since he got similar time schedules.
I'd like to get my Kite'n on with everyone, I'm hunting a bug now something used good for a newb bugger but can progress in and be good for more advanced stuff down the road...
Later... Screwy

SCREWYFITS - 29-3-2008 at 03:09 PM

Oh yeah,
Dlish... any word on the shipment, I got wood for some Kites. I want an Ace 3.5m and a Blaze 3m or 5m right away so save'm for me. I can come out mon, tue or wed if you haven't left yet...
Thanx, Dirk

DAKITEZ - 29-3-2008 at 03:11 PM

I think I love this guy
Let me just give you my daughters college savings account numbers so you can contribute

Sthrasher38 - 29-3-2008 at 03:11 PM

Well if you hook w/ Dlish you'll see me we fly together most of the time. Or alway's in touch.:borg:

Sthrasher38 - 29-3-2008 at 03:14 PM

You better order more before those come in bro.(dam)

SCREWYFITS - 29-3-2008 at 05:58 PM

Haaaa.... you guys....

Don't tempt me to buy more I already trying to figure out if its worth getting a link and legand really interested in the depower Blaze II in a 7m but after watching the vids online they don't look too appealing, the turning doesn't seem right. But hell with it, I'll have to get one of them too just to play with and see if I can tune it in better than what I saw.

There's a bug online (Ebay) that has orange rims for $299 any opinions would be appreciated. It would be for a beginning skill to a fast intermediate skill. I'll try to post a link.

Thanx, Dirk

SCREWYFITS - 29-3-2008 at 06:05 PM

Here is the link for the Bug

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&i...

The seller is trustworthy and he offers a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee (if your not satisfied after assembly, I might just have to take him up on that Guarantee. Heck for $300 I could use iit till I build a Daddy-O Bug. Then sell it for $200. Or... keep it for back up....

See now what you've started...

Dirk

DAKITEZ - 29-3-2008 at 06:18 PM

I think thats a rockeville

SCREWYFITS - 29-3-2008 at 06:32 PM

worth $330?

SCREWYFITS - 29-3-2008 at 07:47 PM

Sthrasher38,
Does look like your buggy and what do ya think of your Rockville? worth $330?
Thanx, Dirk

Bladerunner - 29-3-2008 at 09:51 PM

That's $330 + shipping !

Someone on here just offered up a Peter Lynn folding buggy for $250 . I think it was kyte slinger and I think he's close to you ? I think that may be a better option if you don't mind going used.

I'm tempted by the P.L. !

No... $299 and $29. $328 (to be exact) to your doorstep. And no problem going used, I just like to know I got a deal and not too many used out there. I'd love a folding Bug. My commuter is a Matrix so if I could fit it in the back... well thats "RocS-P-A-M-L-I-N-K-n out with your Rooster out!!!"

Sthrasher38 - 30-3-2008 at 09:35 AM

Yea, It is a rockville it is a different style than mine. The only difference I saw was the foot pegs, back rest a little lower, and pipe wrap around tubing. It is worth the money and I like mine but I got mine for half that so if you save your money and keep shopping for a bit you can find more of what you want imo. Good starter bug but you will be getting another if you get that one. Imo I just don't think they will last that long seat wise I also got new tires for mine that did help it is light and pretty fast I got a good deal on mine or I would have saved up for something else. The wind around here is iffy so the lighter bug gets going eaiser than a heavy one but it's a matter of choice. take you time and make one purchase if you dont have millions in the bank.:borg:

for the record

turtlejoint - 3-4-2008 at 10:31 AM

i can attest to dlish's coolness. I just had a dealing with him and it was a pleasure.

SCREWYFITS - 3-4-2008 at 12:28 PM

I'm hopefully dealing with him in a few hours on his way out to NABX. Hopefully getting an Ace 3.5m and a Blaze 3m, I'll post a review of the Blaze 3m as soon as I can get some time on it.

Screwy

Turtlejoint... glad you had good dealings, did you get a kite? and are you a Nor-Cal resident?

Screwyfits,

The used folding PL buggy offered for $250 was from Glenn (buggymangp). We emailed today and I let him know I wasn't able to buy a buggy quite yet....I'm trying to sell a paraglider first to get a little $. I imagine he would be glad to sell to you. Here's where the post started....scroll down and you will see his post with the offer. He's known by all around here. If you're interested, just contact him and I'm sure you'll be buggying real soon.
