My name is Matt and yesterday I got my first quad line power kite - a Beamer III 3.0. I've flown single line kites for a long time and finally took
the leap to quad line. I've been lurking for about a week and this seems like a great place, and it even looks like there are some enthusiasts in
Georgia, although the other side of the state.
Since I decided to buy the Beamer, I donated most of my single line kites to my nephews, but kept my HQ Downtown Delta for when I don't feel like
getting worked over, so that puts two kites in my quiver, with only one of them being a power kite.
When the winds are not blowing, I enjoy working on building my experimental airplane - a Van's RV-7, or I go flying with my friend in his J3 Cub.
I'm looking to learn more and explore this sport and have some fun. If you'd like to know anything else, please feel free to ask, as I won't hesitate
to do the same for you!acampbell - 28-3-2008 at 06:12 AM
Good choice on the BIII 3m. Just ask BeamerBob here on the forum and also North GA. Kullas is relatively nearby, too.
I have fond memories of my time in a J-3, J-4 and Supercub. I was an A&P abut 20 yrs ago.
If you get down near the coast, look me up and we'll go to for session on the beach.BeamerBob - 28-3-2008 at 07:13 AM
Welcome Dax,
You can't go wrong with the B3 3m. There are others that might be equal but no one ever says they regretted buying one. I'm over in Augusta, so
we'll have to get together to fly sometime.Sthrasher38 - 28-3-2008 at 07:36 AM
welcome to the power kite forum Great first choice. Have fun.Dax - 28-3-2008 at 07:44 AM
Thanks for the welcome.
acampbell - I've got a buddy who's got a cabin on Hird Island near Darien - I'm going to try to get down that way soon to visit. Also - I'll be in
Kingsland on Memorial Day weekend.
BeamerBob - I get out that way every once in a while - I'm game for meeting up some this summer if you know some good places to fly.Sthrasher38 - 28-3-2008 at 07:48 AM
Bob have places to fly? I think he is a google member. He will find a place to fly. Know that in your heart!nhlrule56 - 28-3-2008 at 07:54 AM
Hello Dax and Welcome to the forum.
I totally agree with the B3 3m and being a good first choice. Can't go wrong there. There are loads of good people and advice here on the PKF.
Take care.BeamerBob - 28-3-2008 at 08:32 AM
Yes, U2U sent. I have the soccer field and the 1/4 mile long field behind a Kroger. Aerial recon is fantastic. Well, virtual aerial anyways.stevep - 28-3-2008 at 10:48 AM

Steve - you're in the ST. Pete area?! I'm going to be in Madeira Beach in June (15-21) - this upcoming trip prompted the purchase of my kite! We'll
definitely have to hook up while I'm there! U2U sent!AirHunter - 28-3-2008 at 12:13 PM
Welcome to the forum Dax. My name is Matt too, and I live in GA. I am in Cumming. Also, I have flown BeamerBob's BIII, and it is SWEET. You will
not be disappointed.Dax - 28-3-2008 at 12:18 PM
So it sounds like there are enough GA members to get a meet going one day. Of course, I'll need a few months to brush up on my skills!acampbell - 28-3-2008 at 12:42 PM
Workin on Early Sept for First Annual Jekyll Island Buggy Bash
There also seems to be a convergence developing for May 17-18.AirHunter - 28-3-2008 at 12:42 PM
Skills? All you need is some duct tape to make sure you don' t let go. You'll figure it out. (that's what BeamerBob did to me anyway)kullas - 28-3-2008 at 01:43 PM
Cant wait for May and Sept we should be there for both. Nice beach to ride on

Also Welcome to the forum maybe we can hook up some time and fly and maybe some buggying in if ya want to give that a trysodfarmkiter - 28-3-2008 at 02:11 PM
If we don't get some more Iowa kiters I just might have to move down south. It would suck to leave the sod farm, but it's just no fun with no friends to share your run!:singing:Sthrasher38 - 28-3-2008 at 02:22 PM
I know how that is kiting alone. Bob you didn't tape his hands to the handles!Todd - 28-3-2008 at 06:03 PM
Welcome! From one newb to another. ;-)BeamerBob - 28-3-2008 at 06:28 PM

I guess I shoulda taped your fingers together so you can't type either. You make fun of my training techniques but just look at you now. A full
blown junkie. Makes me proud.:bisou:
I didn't have my duct tape with me this day. Otherwise the training would've gone much faster.

Remember, BeamerBob, that in that picture, chicks were digging ME, and my cool Bat Kite with bloodshot eyes was WAAAY higher than your cinderella kite
with the pink streamers.Sthrasher38 - 29-3-2008 at 07:59 AM
Nice Bob, From Cinderella to Blade 4. Quite a difference. And I did not know that they had speedos in that size.sodfarmkiter - 31-3-2008 at 10:13 PM
SEE, I wasn't the only guy with a cinderella kite! UH, did I just post that! :puzzled:BeamerBob - 1-4-2008 at 08:51 AM

Man you should see Airhunter in a speedo these days. He says he likes the airy feeling he has in one. "Honey, hide the kids eyes." :o
