Are there any kites that'll have me jump or landboard in 2-7 mph wind range? I weigh 155 lbs. Blade IV 8.5?
Thanks.WELDNGOD - 20-4-2008 at 03:15 AM
sorry mate, kites generally need 5-8 just to fly unless you work it hard.domdino - 20-4-2008 at 06:26 AM
silver arrow 1.5 or 2 is massively lifty from about 3mph and will pull you crazy hard
I've landboarded when i couldnt feelj any wind on my back and there not being the wind to spin my windmeter.... im not hyping... thats the kite Baluk - 20-4-2008 at 07:11 AM
What about a 15.4m Combat or something like that?Bladerunner - 20-4-2008 at 08:17 AM
YUP, Flysurfer
17m Silver arrow or a 26m psycho II
If the 15.4 comat is like the 13m Century it will create it's own power once you are moving. That power will = HUGE pull but I'm not sure about
jumping, it turns slow ?WELDNGOD - 20-4-2008 at 08:20 AM
go on and get ya a paraglider!jellis - 20-4-2008 at 05:19 PM
JoJo Rm+12m or 14m or 16m
I love the big stuff, so stable and smooth, turns on wingtips with power handles, 34.6 mph in a Hardcore with RM+ 16m in 3 to 7 mph winds on Sunset
Beach. Ask Sunset Jim or Eli. I can't tell you how much fun it is to see a kiter struggle getting a single line up as I go pasted with with speed, or
to watch a bunch of buggier curse me as I use up the beach while they sit and wait for enough wind for their smaller size foils. Hey I learned a while
ago that if I travel any distance to buggy, I want to buggy not sit around and wait on wind. Be aware not all big foils are like the JoJo RM+ that has
an amazing wind range and lots of other big foils have a small wind range. At the cost of these big foils all I can say is try BEFORE you buy, and be
aware, you get what you pay for in quality, durability, handling, and speed.USA_Eli_A - 20-4-2008 at 05:22 PM
absolutely!
JOJO+ or YakuzaKiteProject - 20-4-2008 at 05:45 PM
True words!
I feel the same way. Beach is about 40 - 60 mins away (local park is used as a dog literine) and when I get there, I want my kite to stay up. Last
season, I faced the utter disappointment of windless days (or decreasing wind) at the beach only to fume over wasted time, gas expense, and toll.

machine.Worth every pennyBladerunner - 20-4-2008 at 09:07 PM
I almost forgot about the 16m RM +
That'll do the job KiteProject - 21-4-2008 at 01:58 PM
How do you guys feel about a Flexifoil Rage 6.0m? People rarely sell their Flexifoils.domdino - 21-4-2008 at 02:00 PM
The rage is a great kite, the blade will do you much better in lighter winds but in really light winds you need a much bigger kite...
the 6m rage will need about 8mph in it to be enjoyable in my opinion, i flew one at wallop a few years back in 15mph (6m) was fun bbrex - 21-4-2008 at 06:43 PM
How about a 19.5m or 32m NPW5 they will cost ya a whole lot less.
BradKiteProject - 21-4-2008 at 10:06 PM
NPW5 would certainly cost less. I'll keep it in mind.

The best I can do on a reasonable budget is 4mph, an extra 1 to 2 mph which I'd acquire with a JoJo RM+ 16m would cost an additional US $1700. This is
way out of my budget. Henceforth, I admit defeat and resign myself to a low end wind range of 4-5 mph for my quiver.
Life sure ain't fair. f0rgiv3n - 22-4-2008 at 09:48 AM

Hey, no problem, I still have my almost new paraglider for sale at about 30 meters! Anyone interested? Here's a vid of it being kited by my buddy in
somewhat windy, gusty, turbulent conditions:
I''ll gladly sell it to ya so my quiver can grow!!

Absolutely, Susan! It's a crop field....bermuda hay. The owner just harvested his first cut. He tries to get 4 crops a season, so, I will have to
wait till the fall to really run all around on it. We just use a middle "path" to drive into it for now. Besides, I gotta get good enough on the
kites I have, and get used to the new harness I should get any day, and then, I reckon, I'll just have to buy me a buggy!!! Yeah!
