Chest Harness

SCREWYFITS - 20-4-2008 at 06:34 PM

Anyone use a chest harness? If so do you have or can you share pictures? I'd like to make a chest harness and have only seen one from behind in a picture. The more detailed the pics the better...

I'll share pics of my "Project Screwy Chest Harness"

Thanx,
Screwy

I know kite slinger uses one ;-)

Thats where I saw one in a pic of him on his Chopper Bug... but its only a view from the back...:puzzled:

By the way your harness extension is done!!!:singing:

Thanks for helping out a fat guy.

I get a photo up tomorrow..... I bashed me knee on my buggy doing some buggy surfing today when the front wheel dug in some soft sand.......

it can be modified with an updated spreader bar and pad

I like them because I can pivot{lean} forward and backwards to give and take on the power or lack of through my hips for freestyle and its kind of hard to do that with a seat harness ......and sometimes I wear both at the same time

Good points Slinger, I like the idea of being able to manipulate the power as you stated... Also like the spreader bar idea...

I have a Dakine waist harness for kiteboarding that can be used also and a climbing harness that can also be used. But I really like the chest idea, it kinda lines the handles up with your shoulders...

any luck kite slinger?

Now Screwy didn't have to put that on a "public" forum, did he?!??

Anyway, dlish, I'm sure there's a difference between "fat" and "large".

Kyteslinger,

I have never heard of a chest harness until the last month or so :puzzled:

I hoped a picture would make it more clear but I don't get it

How does it go on the body / chest ?

My waist harness often rides up and could almost be called a chest harness :tumble:

SCREWYFITS - 22-4-2008 at 05:29 PM

I'll give you my best explanation, you have two straps that ride over your shoulders and a strap that rides around your chest (covers your nip's) Your upper body supports the pull from the kite right from the center of your chest. It's realy not for everybody, but it has it's advantages. I'm gonna make one so it will be cheap to try.

Kite Slinger can hopefully give you a better explanation since he uses one often...

KYTE SLINGER - 22-4-2008 at 05:47 PM

hold on I'll see if my wife can get a couple of photos of it on me

Bladerunner - 22-4-2008 at 06:19 PM

That is exactly what I was expecting ! I can see how it works. Sort of a sports Bra for kiters :smug:
Verrrry interesting :!:

all right I got a few new ones up....

I don't really care for a waist harness either{except when I KGB} I have to squeeze the living daylight out of me and I can't breath or like bladerunner stated it ends up riding upwards.

the chest is great for quick handling in and out and I feel more centered were my hands are in doing so..... If I get overly lit coming out of a turn, I can bend at the waist to absorb some of the force as well my body is now forward towards the center of the buggy and less of a chance of having the rear hooking up and sending me over.....

if you fly depowers then a chest is not the way to go

SCREWYFITS - 22-4-2008 at 08:22 PM

Theose are perfect pics Kyte Slinger,

I should be able to make a nice harness with ideas taken from the pics you provided... Maybe a couple...

Thanx Thanx...

DAKITEZ - 22-4-2008 at 09:49 PM

maybe you could even make a couple straps that would go down to some leg straps like a seat harness to help it from riding up :puzzled:

SCREWYFITS - 23-4-2008 at 03:03 AM

if it rides up I'll have to do something of the sort...:singing:
