This is off topic, but I NEED this for my goverment class, and you can delete it thursday. I hope you understand, and please help guys! I need to poll
people on their view points on benefits for drivers of alternative fuel vehicles.
So would you like to see benifits for drivers of alternative fuel vehicles such as, closer reserved parking spots (just after the handicapped spots)
tax returns and be able to use the HOV lane w/ only one person in the car.

I wish they would just charge less for the ethanol blended fuels. Then there is a built in incentive. With 10% ethanol, my fuel mileage gets a 10%
cut. It doesn't have the energy density of "real" gasoline.
WELDNGOD - 28-4-2008 at 11:33 AM
or better yet tell the oil companies to quit gouging us, I mean you cannot justify 40 billion dollars in profit when the fuel costs are as high as
they are.And that was just one company! Who is lyin? the station owners will tell ya there is no money in selling gas, that's why they all sell beer,
cigs, food, sodas etc.. so who is it that is profiteering? Govt.(taxes) , oil cos. ,stores,?People in third world countries are gonna die behind these
oil prices(literally). personally I'm all for goin back to horses or kitebuggies! but the genie is out of the bottle and we puny humans are powerless to stop him. And I'm w/ Beamer Bob about the mpg thing I
don't want anything that means I gotta buy more overpriced gas! Bring on the hydrogen fuel cell!!
PHREERIDER - 28-4-2008 at 11:56 AM
hit the bike brothers! I log close to 3500 miles per year on commuting to work and getting around. not using refined products is the message they
need. just say no.

im not very up to date on this but as far as i know people are not reasearching alternate fuels (like electric) as much because as it is engines are
very inefficient and they would rather try to improve efficiency than get new fuels.
DAKITEZ - 28-4-2008 at 01:02 PM
The technology is there and has been there for years to run electric vehicles. The oil companies have sooo much power they won't let it happen. Thats
the bottom line!!! A crack dealer isn't going to support you going to rehab.
NPWfever - 28-4-2008 at 02:26 PM
Do you guys mind if I quote some people for my project? PM me no if you dont want to be quoted. I wont have any names, just your words. And I need
some votes guys!!!
WELDNGOD - 28-4-2008 at 03:16 PM
ok, I think if your vehicle is made to produce say 30+ mpg or fossil fuel free, then you should get some kind of perk.Be it monetary or convenience!
levitation^Drew - 28-4-2008 at 05:04 PM
This is how you do it.

I'm a conspiracy theorist at heart so I might be biased BUT rumor has it (this was well documented) that when EV's first started to rumble the current
battery technology was NiCad (my brain is getting old so forgive me if it was NiMH - I assure you it was one of the two). Anyway, GM had built their
EVO during this time and them, along with other manufacturers were making them possible by building large capacity NiCads to run these things. Well,
turns out the copyright holder on the battery technology didn't like this so they imposed capacity limits on the licenses it sold off to companies
like GM. The end result - the EV's were again impractical because they couldn't get enough capacity in a battery with any sort of decent voltages.
The owner of the copyright - Chevron.
Don't believe me? Google Chevron & electric car.....there was even a documentary. Now for the REAL conspiracist in me.......do you think it's odd
that now more than ever EV's are more and more feasible - especially with Lithium battery technology. So, if you were an oil company wouldn't you want
to jack the prices as much as you could before the world caught on? This and mounting pressure on sustainable fuels and you can bet they are both
sweating and squashing all the eco-warriors that they can.
This coming from an Albertan - living, benefiting and suffering in oil soaked money.....even worse, paying gobs for gas that's MADE RIGHT OUT MY FRONT
DOOR!
Okay...off my soap box now. Thanks for listening ; )
SCREWYFITS - 28-4-2008 at 11:30 PM
I completely agree with macboy... The oil companies have bought so many of the companies that invent an alternate then the oil co shelves the hole
thing...
We need an alternate... "BAD"...
WELDNGOD - 29-4-2008 at 01:18 PM
Hell we even elected one!
kitepool - 29-4-2008 at 05:58 PM
If one were to criticize the oil companies
one would have to include companies in russia, OPEC, Venezuela, Mexico, Cuba
North seas,
Oil is Mexico's#2 resource, (Kudo's to he/she who guesses the #1)
Cuba is slant-drilling the same oil below our florida waters
that our own elected officials refuse to tap into.
Electricity is NOT a fuel
you still need oil, coal, natural Gas, nuke-ular, hydro, wind power to make it
ALSO
what happens to all those used 300 plus pound Prius Batteries
when they wear out?
Batteries are full of neal noxious chemicals
do they get recycled? Idontknow...
does it PAY to do so?
edit
kitepool - 29-4-2008 at 06:13 PM
Oil is Mexico's #1,
the other thing is #2
one or the other
