Look out PKF here comes Sthrasher

DAKITEZ - 5-5-2008 at 02:20 PM

I just got off the phone with sthrasher ... he was injured at work today. He called from the emergency room, just to say he was happy to be alive (and I think he said something about the wind picking up outside also). I will let him fill in the details later. It looks like he will be lay'd up for awhile so I just wanted to get the warning out now  I believe his last injury is when he became a know-it-all. You have been warned !!!

Sthrasher hope you get well soon;)

WELDNGOD - 5-5-2008 at 02:52 PM

GET WELL BUDDY!

Bladerunner - 5-5-2008 at 04:24 PM

:o OUCH :o

Do you get covered by Workman's Compensation in the U.S.A. ?

I'm an Electrician as well and have been very lucky. 30 years in the trade and only 2 days off to Compo' !

Might be time to learn to fly a Rev

All my Best Bro' :saint:

Mrlucky - 5-5-2008 at 04:27 PM

Get well soon man. :(

crosshatch - 5-5-2008 at 06:17 PM

Hope it heals quick, Duder.

ripsessionkites - 5-5-2008 at 07:14 PM

get well soon buddy ... i guess you needed a harness sooner than later (inside joke).

nhlrule56 - 5-5-2008 at 07:18 PM

Great Pic Kyte Slinger -

Get well soon dude. I imagine you could do some slow speed buggying when the pain subsides. You wife may have something to say about it. Just wrap the toes so your cast does not fill with sand!

kullas - 6-5-2008 at 04:45 AM

Get well soon. Im sure there is something ya can still fly. for me the sitting around would get me. Hope ya have a speedy recovery

WELDNGOD - 6-5-2008 at 06:04 AM

hey, I landboarded in a fracture walker. which is a giant boot that locks in various positions. Had a blast , but the missus was less than impressed!

BeamerBob - 6-5-2008 at 06:09 AM

Sorry Thrasher. Hope you get it mended quick and well. You can get all your lines wound up nice and tidy during the layup. You might even want to rotate your lines so the wear from twisted lines gets a break. Give us details when you get back here. What is next after know it all?

acampbell - 6-5-2008 at 07:27 AM

Wow, hope you get better soon. Think of wind, ripstop and dyneema! All the best.

Lobo - 6-5-2008 at 05:37 PM

Really sorry to hear about this thrasher...:thumbdown: Hope things heal fast!!

Lobo :singing:

DAKITEZ - 6-5-2008 at 05:40 PM

he went into surgery this afternoon to put pins in his foot. I expect we will not hear from him until atleast tommorow. If I hear anything I will keep y'all posted.

awindofchange - 6-5-2008 at 05:44 PM

Man that's terrible news. Hope everything is ok Sthrasher, get well soon and let us know how you are doing.

Sthrasher38 - 7-5-2008 at 06:44 AM

Well, Thanks everyone for your concern.:borg:

kitemaker4 - 7-5-2008 at 07:01 AM

Wow talk about lucky. Knowing how much worse it could have been.

Take care.

Susan (npw goddess)

Sthrasher38 - 7-5-2008 at 07:14 AM

Yea, That's all I keep thinking about. Kinda like a boulder dropping on a water melon.:puzzled:

Bladerunner - 7-5-2008 at 07:38 AM

KEEP EVERY RECEIPT :!:

Sthrasher38 - 7-5-2008 at 07:48 AM

Receipt?

Bladerunner - 7-5-2008 at 08:46 AM

Any expense ! Doctors, Taxis , gas, Bandages . All things that they will pay you back for.

Sthrasher38 - 7-5-2008 at 08:49 AM

Ahh!

BeamerBob - 7-5-2008 at 08:53 AM

I'd say it is negligent to throw an air conditioner at someone that is somewhere ok to be. Money is one thing, but lets just hope they can put Humpty Dumpty back together again. You have lots of flying yet to do! Lets hope you don't get any nervous tics while you are laid up. :ticking:

Sthrasher38 - 7-5-2008 at 08:59 AM

I am a little worried.

Mrlucky - 7-5-2008 at 09:17 AM

wow man, you are in amazingly good spirits given what happened.
I was pissed in a walking cast for 6 weeks when I sprained my ankle. :)

I guess I will meet you in a few months out at the sod farms when you are all healed up

Sthrasher38 - 7-5-2008 at 09:19 AM

Yea, I am sure we will meet up before then. I can just watch you and Dlish fly. We will see how it goes.

NPWfever - 7-5-2008 at 09:39 AM

Take up kitesewing! :D

USA_Eli_A - 7-5-2008 at 10:26 AM

Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude, It's bad enough you can't kite. oh man, work comp and you have to have surgery. I'd recommend a workcomp attorney. Turn in your mail on-time, and don't say nuffin while on the drugs......

Sthrasher38 - 7-5-2008 at 01:29 PM

Thanks.

kiteNH - 7-5-2008 at 01:51 PM

Best of luck on the recovery. It sounds like some pretty gross negligence on the part of the demo crew and/or the GC. I think that you've gotten great advice as far as getting a lawyer and keeping receipts, etc. I've got one more piece of advice. I would really keep what you say about the whole situation on this public forum to a minimum. The lawyers and insurance claim people could somehow get a hold of your statements and try to use them against you. I'm not saying that would happen, but it certainly seems like it could happen and I wouldn't take the chance. Maybe I'm just paranoid.

I honestly wouldn't say to much at least until you've talked to a lawyer and get their opinion. Even admitting that you had been out for a quick buggy ride or something could come back to you in worker's comp proceedings if they really investigated it. I'd keep the conversation tuned towards all the fancy new kites you're going to be flying when you make it back out there. Just my (paranoid) 2 cents. Good luck kite shopping!

Todd - 8-5-2008 at 07:34 AM

Good advice KiteNH, as for getting info on WC lawyer... don't worry about that because you will be getting tons of them in the mail wanting your case as soon as you file for workmans comp. Ambulance chasers!

Sthrasher38 - 8-5-2008 at 07:47 AM

Thanks alot for the advise well taken.:wink2:

Oh God! don't get me started on the blowcart thing. I can barely afford kites.

flexiblade - 17-5-2008 at 10:21 PM

Sorry I didn't get to put my two cents in earlier - here's to getting better - kitting is fun but walking is a blessing. I'll see you soon skip - make that hobble - just kidding.

Sthrasher38 - 29-5-2008 at 08:33 AM

Mrlucky - 29-5-2008 at 11:30 AM

I will have to share with you some of my frankenstein foot pictures after my last surgery.

Heal up quick man

Sthrasher38 - 4-7-2008 at 10:20 AM

Well it is july 4th! And it is back to work for me mon. After being off for 2mo! I am so ready to start buggying again. My foot will never be the same. At least not for a long while. But I am up and running! I will be a virgin jumper again! I see some 14-18 mph wind comming with my 6.4 Blade. That will heal me up.:singing: Thanks for everyones concern. All is well. Sthrasher, now I am truly a :borg:

csa_deadon - 4-7-2008 at 11:14 AM
