I have an old pair of skis I was thinking of cutting and somehow getting on my buggy, has anyone ever tried this?popeyethewelder - 8-5-2008 at 01:08 PM

I wonder about how well the ski-buggies can hold an edge against the wind. It looks like they would just slide out when you loaded it up. The ice
blades look like they would hold on so tight that the buggy would spit you out if you turned too hard. The ice buggy sure looks like fun though.Sthrasher38 - 10-5-2008 at 09:28 AM

If you mounted the skis at the back at an angle then there wouldn't be the side slip when powered up. Using a ski from a snowmobile that has a
carbide runner would seem to be the best for the front (or for all three - the kitcat buggy in popeyes pics uses those it seems). Windsurfers make a
rig for winter that uses skis set at an angle so that there is grip. A picture is attached.
