Just went kiting to a new spot today. Nice spot, shallow water for half mile but there is no launching area.
Everybody pumps their kites, and walk to water far enough and let go for a water launch. That works fine with a LEI.
Any suggested technique to do it with a Flysurfer
I did setup all my lines ready to go on my P3 10m, reroll the kite and open it on water but the kite took some water, so I had to go back and dry it.
On second attempt I did a hot launch close to the board but it's way too dangerous
Should I pre-inflate the kite and require some help to hold the kite from the tip and walk with me far enough
Any ideas.

I am assuming you have some beach there, even if it's small, I would say hook it all up, walk out to into the water, have a helper launch it on the
beach, or no helper, whichever would be easier, then launch it and body drag out and rip it up.DenisLaMenace - 23-5-2008 at 08:00 PM
No beach
The pumping area is a private land. The guy charges 10$ for using his spot.
Then the bay surrounding is full of houses, trees, etc.
But the spot is worth it because the winds come clean from anything west, and shallow water (less than 3 feet) a half mile far awayBladerunner - 23-5-2008 at 08:16 PM
Sounds like you are thinking what I'm thinking. Get a battery pump or blower . Inflate it at the waters edge and drag it out like an air matteress. An
assistant would be a HUGE help. With an assistant you could work together each holding a wingtip to self inflate it, The assistant can then baby sit
it as you walk out the lines and launch.

Had another session at same spot today but with the Silver Arrow
That time I asked for help. Someone walks the kite fold in 2 by the tips, and let one wing tip go when I am ready to pump (hand pull on front lines)
the kite in the air.
it worked.NPWfever - 25-5-2008 at 10:27 AM
Float the kite out on a raft.......? dylanj423 - 26-5-2008 at 06:52 PM
I recently read in the flysurfer manual (psycho 3 manual in the support archive, page 21) an advanced water launch technique. I have not tried it, as
I am not advanced, but the manual lays it out on how to water launch solo. It does warn that it is NOT a novice technique (no implications at all),
and I wouldnt feel comortable with it, but check it out, it is there.
Happy Kiting.DenisLaMenace - 26-5-2008 at 08:08 PM
Just read it. thanks for the info.
Seems like they say to unroll the lines while the kite is lying on the water. I dont feel safe with that either, so I will stick with someone holding
the tips and bring the kite to water with me.
It worked fine with the SA2 on my second day at that spot.dylanj423 - 27-5-2008 at 01:14 PM
I was thinking about that manual, and if (big if) I ever tried it, it seems like you would have to fold in the wingtips where the water out valves are
to prevent them from being water "in" valves.clintopher - 27-5-2008 at 03:11 PM

Several of the flysurfer guys fill the kite with some water for added security in case the line pays out a little to quickly. Once the lines are
taught and they're ready they just wait for the water to drain out and then launch the kite.DenisLaMenace - 23-6-2008 at 10:22 AM
Ok this video show how easy is to water launch your Flysurfer
