Mate, all the help you'll ever need is within a few miles of home....
Some of the best UK buggiers, and definately the nicest appear most weekends down at Redcar.
Down the Majumba beach carpark, head down the beach towards the North Gare. They usually set up a few hundred yards down that way.
Go down, say hello and look around. As I said, they're quite friendly. you can learn a lot just watching and one guy is a trained instructor. The
only name I remember is Appo, he'll set you right!
If it's not offending list etiquette, try www.appozone.com, they live one there.

mr whippet:
PhilN is spot on, you're in the UK and there's more happening there for powerkites than the rest of the english speaking world put together.
powerkiteforum is fantastic, but its a US based site.
Try racekites.com. Their forum is still recovering from some recent internet troubles, but they've got a good community there, and the last few
newcomers I've seen on that forum have gotten a very good welcome.
I live and fly in HK, and so pretty much all my learning comes from browsing. I'd likely learn more in a few hours with the folks PhilN mentions than
I would surfing the net for a few months...
take care,
furbo
