Guys, this field is the bomb! This is the nicest non beach flying location I've ever seen. Mowed grass and it is smooth as butter. You have room to
get away from the trees and away from each other. I thought my little soccer complex (4 full size soccer fields) was nice but we could fit 10 of my
complex on the front third of this Aiken field. Doesn't really matter where the wind comes from since it is so open. Needless to say, I am now a
member in good standing (I hope) with the Aiken Kite Club. I guess if you live in the plains, this is common, but this is a special place in the
south for sure. Chris is as nice a guy as you'll ever meet too. Put this on your bucket er uh kite list!

Hey Chris,
Can you post some pics...

I'll be out of town for a couple weeks (and yes I brought a few small kites to keep the kite jones at bay) but I'll post some pictures of the field
and coordinates. You can view it on Google Earth now but it shows a dirt road and a large shed right in the middle that is no longer there. Old Google
Earth Sat photos..
Look for the location on G.E as Beech Island South Carolina, Intersection of Pine Log Road and Storm Branch Road. The field is just up the street on
Storm Branch Rd and has 2 grain silos at one end. If anyone wants to visit you'll need to meet an Aiken Kite Club member there (BeamerBob's a member
too) the first time and then you can join the club and then you can go whenever you want. The landowner wants everyone who uses it to sign a release
and hold harmless and that's why we set up the club. The club membership form covers the land use rules and release and I can email one to anyone who
wants it and you can send it back to me and become a member that way. There's no charge to be a member of the club.
Email me at criekefastlane@bellsouth.net and ask for a member form and I'll send it to you. As I said I'm not home now so i won't be able to send the
form from my own PC for a couple of weeks.
