After flyin to here in Newport I thought this was appropriate.
Feel free to add to this.
You know it's windy when,
you get your hiny handed to you by a 2.2m.
winds North @ 38mph, Gusts N @ 42mph 6:00 p.m.

when the first dive into the power zone with a HQ symphony 2.7 breaks a hundred-kilogram line...
35 mph gusting to 50....
the same day I was butt-scudding on grass with my two nieces in my lap with a flexi sting 1.7, never bought the kite down below about 45 degrees off
the ground...
Victoria, B.C., clover point, sometime between xmas and new year's day, end of 2007

Well I was at it again! Butt scudding that is. Same kite, 2.2 Titian.
This time however, I set myself up for a static jump from behind a log.
Winds NNW at 34 mph gusting to 40mph, (gotta love Newport!!)
dipped the kite down to approx 60 degrees off the beach and same to the left side.
Got about 20 feet vertical and 30-40 down wind.
Oh and Jon the wind was blowing straight down the beach, again!! :P

WOW gusting to 40mph??? M a scared to even think about having my Crossfire 2.4 out in that. I think it would be too much for me to handle. I can
barely handle it anymore as it is after getting so use to depower. :karate:

Heh. That reminds me of the time I tried to take out my Phantom 12m in winds like that and higher!
Lets just say, it got into a huge tangled mess and my harness and gloves and bag were flying down the field! I did not get very far and after chasing
for all my belongings, i packed my kite up!
BeamerBob - 15-7-2008 at 04:15 AM
So from what Baluk says, you know its windy when you can just fly your harness, gloves or kite bag!

I'm gonna have to agree with you!

I was on my way to the beach one day , and I saw these kids with a skateboard in a parking lot using a patio umbrella as a sail So you know I had To stop and show them, that wasn't a new idea. they loved it. Hope
they didn't hurt mom n dads umbrella:wow:
csa_deadon - 17-7-2008 at 03:57 PM
Jim, that's something I gotta see!
PHREERIDER - 18-7-2008 at 05:48 AM

PHREERIDER - 18-7-2008 at 05:50 AM

csa_deadon - 18-7-2008 at 05:54 AM
The sight of sand being lifted off the beach. It doesn't get much better then that.
PHREERIDER - 18-7-2008 at 07:43 AM
the air is moving
the ground is moving
the sand is blasting
the ocean rages
mother is calling
time for your dose of medicine.
