I have this bookmarked for all the locations of the event and pre-event. This was from a post a few years ago. I don't know if the link will work but it does when I copy and paste. Hope this helps you out.
Andrew.

Look for Primm, Nevada, or use these coordiinates...

Latiitude 35°34'8.73"N
Longitude 115°23'43.49"W

That will give you the approximate location of Buggytown. The Casinos (with hotels) are just to the north a few kilometers in Primm, Nevada

The hotel used is Buffalo Bill's. In the same complex is the fashion outlet shopping mall. Just south of that, next to a convenice store at the southern end of the whole complex and just to the east of the highway is the Nevada/ California state border and the entrance to the Ivanpah Dry Lake. Buggytown is about 3 miles or 5 km south of that along a road that rins down the eastern edge of the dry lake.

You can follow the interstate highway north to Las Vegas, about a 45 minute drive, which is your likely flight destination.

Cool thanks Angus! I have a question now... it is unrelated but... on google earth I can see to the NW of the lat/long you listed a bunch of green (grass???) circles what are they? I can't figure that one out!!!

green is the golf course

levitation^Drew - 9-7-2008 at 10:32 PM

I am guessing the green you see is the golf course or your monitor is dirty. The google earth kmz file is attached for Ivanpah dry lake.

levitation^Drew,
I see the golf course, I was looking farther along. I can't figure it out at all.

I believe the circles are an irrigated farm. Irrigation systems in dry areas (and this is dry!) consist of a sprinkler pipe on wheels that rotates around the center pipe that is the water supply. Kind of like a giant walking sprinkler head.

kitedemon - 10-7-2008 at 07:27 AM

Ahhh that is amazing! Thanks Angus!

sod farm maybe?

levitation^Drew - 10-7-2008 at 08:23 PM

That would be awesome if this were a sod farm we could try out while at NABX. Fun game of watch out here comes the irrigation sprinkler system. Those circles look huge. How did I miss that? Maybe I should clean MY monitor.

Yeah, buggy on crop circles!!
