Pansh Ace vs. Blaze

harddrive8 - 17-7-2008 at 08:19 PM

Can somebody compare and contrast the Pansh Blaze and Ace kites for me? I'm looking at picking up a 12m for low wind conditions and wondering which one of those two series I should get. I'm on a bit of a budget or I would go with a little better known namebrand (Flexi, HQ, etc.)

Thanks,
Joe

blaze if you want to buggy
ace if you want to jump

the blaze will be very similiar to the legend you have as far as flying charateristics. Super stable, alittle faster than your legend. And since you have a ace 6m you know what the ace does.

Thanks for the quick reply. I don't have a buggy or land board right now and have been practicing on static jumps. I enjoy the pull from the legend, but would rather fly the ace any day because of the lift. The price difference was making me wonder if I should go with the blaze over the ace. However, knowing now that the blaze is similar to the legend in flying characteristics, I believe I'll save up the extra couple dollars and get the ace instead.

Yeah... I hit your thread over at the unofficial site... and Dakitez is a seasoned Pansh specialist and I agree the Ace is for jump'n/freestyle...

my question is for the size of these kites... aren't they heavy for too light of winds? unless you have apparent wind... correct me if I'm wrong...

Harddrive, what are you considering low wind and is it beach wind or inland wind?

Good luck in your choice...

It will mainly be flown via inland winds. I know inland winds are often more gusty than is beach winds, but I plan on being little picky about when it comes out to play; especially the until I get some time logged with it. As far as low wind goes, I consider ~4-7mph low wind.

burritobandit might be a good person to ask i know he has a 12m ace.

I flew the 12m ace in no wind and it does have a ton of power. very slow to turn as would be expected from a kite that large. Not sure of the lift factor, because it does turn so slow. Just know that a kite of that size is only good in roughly 5-10 mph. Much more than 10 mph and i doubt you could hold it down.

When first grabbing a new kite, I'm usually pretty easily convinced to let go if I get in trouble (getting pulled to hard or kite not acting as desired) letting the kite killers take over. I also usually start in the lightest winds I believe a kite will fly in and then work my way up as I feel comfortable. I've already decided that there won't be a time that I'm going to fly a 12m without KK on, no matter what the wind is like when going outside.

I'll shoot burritobandit a P2P and see if he can give some thoughts on it.

Thanks again for all the advise supplied so far. I'm always interested in end user comments about things I purchase. Kites are no different. :P

WOW... no wind, that is cool... I figured the flipping weight of the 12m would just be too much for that low low wind... I was figuring like 7mph or so would be low end... I gotta try a something like that...

It will fly in the breeze made by a squirrle fart :moon:

Glad to see Harddrive8 asked this question. I was wondering the same thing. Would rather have the Montana III 12.5m but looks like the Ace 12m will win on my little budget.

Now to talk Harddrive8 out of his Crossfire 6.3m :) :):puzzled: The only kite he has that has put me on my butt, but yet I cant stay away from it. :)

SCREWYFITS - 18-7-2008 at 01:42 AM

DAKITEZ has a Crossfire II 5m up for sale (super deal, like new, low time) and its very sweet kite that I'm sad to see it for sale... its in the for sale section... My avatar is me hanging from it... I'd take it but I just dropped the coin for a 5m Ozone HAKA...

Welcome to the forum both of you...

Thanks for the welcome screwyfits. I'm just waiting on my budget to grow a bit to be able to get the ace now. It's really starting to sound like a good low wind kite. Hopefully within the next couple weeks...

burritobandit - 18-7-2008 at 08:13 AM

Dakites actually sold me the 8m. I missed out on the chance to get the 12m. Harddrive8, I replied to your U2U

DAKITEZ - 18-7-2008 at 09:22 AM

It was dman who got it. check with him.
