Today my Dad came out in the back yard and wanted me to show him how to fly what he calls " That over priced kite ". So being the nut I am, I pulled
the Crossfire 6.3 out. Winds were blowing about 3-4 mph. Everything was going good and Dad was loving it. All of a sudden the wind turned 90 degrees
to the right and jumped to 9 mph. I looked at Dad and stated the famous redneck last words " Hey watch this " as I popped up in the air about 2-3
feet. Dad starts laughing just as the wind decides to teach me a lesson and gusts to 23 mph according to my desktop weather program. Dad says I went
about 10-12 feet off the ground. All I know is I am laying on the ground trying not to grin to big as I scream that was fun and Dad is yelling the
#### if I am trying that #### thing.
I did manage to get the crossfire out of the top of the tree that apparently the kite flew into when I tried to redirect the kite to return to the
ground. All I know is I am flying, redirect kite, and BAAAAM, the ground jumped into the air and hit me.
Next time I will use the Beamer for all how to's.

I just hope Harddrive8's Ace 12m shows up today so that I can get my hands on it. They are calling for 10 mph winds today
I have my safety equipment ready to (hammer and nails). That should keep the ground from flying up and hitting me again LOL
Just glad all I wound up with is a sore left side from the shoulder to my foot instead of something broken. Now I just have to check the kite for rips
as I jerked it out of the top of the tree, then I can go back to trying to prove that I am just like superman and can fly. lunchbox - 24-7-2008 at 08:37 AM

I'm jealous, I want a back yard that's that big. People around here that have 5500 sq ft lot space think that's big!).

Geez, after going vertical 10ft on a CF 6.3 and landing pretty hard, that would make some people a little reluctant...you want to fly a Ace
12m....you're a lot braver than I am Sandman - 25-7-2008 at 01:26 AM

The back yard is not that big. I live on about a 1 acre lot with 2 out buildings, 2 mobile homes, 6 power lines, and lots of trees. Very little room
to fly in and not the best place to fly. But I am hard headed.

Bravery has nothing to do with it. I am just the kind that wants to prove a point. Not sure what my point is on this stuff, but I know it has been
painful so far. So I guess you could say that it is not bravery that I have, it is stupidity.
But I do have respect for the crossfire 6.3, and after seeing the ace 12m yesterday in what I would call a very light breeze pulling like a mack truck
I have even more respect for it. But I must push my luck and go for the Ace 12 in higher winds just to see how bad it is. I am think around 3-4 mph,
if I can get the nerve up.
