I've been looking around at landboards and what to know.... which is best!!!
Thats all! (for use mainly in short grass)
should I start with a nice cheap Scrub or save up for a Flexdeck or such like?

I'm looking at getting a Scrub Silver Reef II fro my first board. Have tried a FlexDeck, didn't like the shape and the way it made you
ride. The Scrub is reversible, so should be easier to fly both ways on without having the kite over your shoulder. Have ridden the original Silver
Reef and it seemed a fairly solid board, but then I'm only about 60kg!
As your first board there is not a lot of point getting either a trick board or a high speed board, wait til you know what you are going to use it
for..

You can ride a mtn board any direction. With the kite straight downwind, you facing downwind, you can ride to your left or right. If you can only
ride one direction, you just need to practice to ride the other. Just like toeside, you can ride either direction with your back to the kite with
practice. A board doesnt make you not be able to go a single direction, your skill does.

What I mean is that you can get off the board and reverse your feet without moving the board, so to ride your preferred way, either regular or goofy,
you don't have to bother turning the board aroud while flying. The Flexdeck, because it is curvy cannot be comfortably ridden in both directions

Hi all, new here & new to the sport.
I like my Flexifoil Kava. Long, low center of gravity & stable at what seems very high speed Also, the build quality is superb - really nicely finished etc.
And it's 12 ply & very solid. I'm 6'3 & almost 300lbs :D
Those thin, tall decks scare me

Check out the Ground Industries Boards (www.groundindustries.com). They are the best boards I've ever used for kiting. Super durable and suprisingly light. I light the shorter flight
deck for jumps and tricks (it's only 15lbs with everything attached) But GI also makes some longer decks that would be better for just cruising
around.
The uniquely designed trucks totally eliminate speed wobble and you don't need to replace springs or anything.
my advice is to get a reasonably priced kheo. there good boards and you can use them for downhill with out the kite aswell. you cant on the flexifoil
boards as the truks are set up for kiting, and if you tried downhilling with a kite flexifoil or some other company that only does kite boards you
will uncontrolably swerve to you backside.
Also, the build quality is superb - really nicely finished etc.
