"sky hooks" for land boarding.

So i have taken up snowkiting and kitesurfing and im at the early intermediate stage, maybe late beginner, but anyway..., I also have a MBS board, but i seem to be afraid of cranking my feet, ankle, tibia around with the foot straps usually used on MBS boards. Since im new to land boarding, I was wondering if others have tried 1."strapless" for early learning, 2. Skyhooks. or S2 freeboard hooks that don't actually lock you in. or 3. is it safer to just stay locked into the board even when you need to bail?.

The hooks look much safer to me since they couldn't crank or rotate your ankle if one foot comes out.
Anyone with experience with this? or are my fears unwarranted.

Theses are pics of what im talking about

My board straps are older, but allow a quick bail out. Maybe if you set your bindings slightlly loose for the learning phase. I am considering a more secure binding now, after about six months of boarding, so your bindings may be able to be set loose now, and still allow you to tighten them up in the future.

I find if I have to bail, a quick kick of both feet gets the board off, but then again most of the time im in the air when that happens. but still my mbs bindings are always easy to bail out of.

When I started on my landboard, I removed the bindings so I could bail quick. I eventually got used to the feel of the board and put them back on and haven't looked back. I just have the bindings set a little loose so I can pull my feet out to bail, and haven't had any bad accidents so far (knock on wood). If I feel a bail comin on, I just pull my feet out immediately and run/scud to a stop. Or, I get down really low to prepare for a buttbail, release the kite to kite killers, and buttscud to a stop (wear denim jeans, NOT khaki shorts, trust me.)

Also, I've actually got a Freebord and *have* thought of putting my S2 bindings on my MBS board, but don't really feel like drilling more holes into the MBS deck :/ I think they'd do a great job of letting you ride around on the ground and give you the option/benefit of a quick bail, but I'm not sure how well the board would stay on your feet during a jump. I've seen vids of peeps jumping on Freebords, but jumps with kites usually have more hangtime ;)

I think if it makes you more comfortable learning then it's not a bad idea. Once you are more comfortable and trying tricks you can change back to full binding ! Drilling the deck would be the big issue ?

CHANGE IT! FIND SOMETHING THAT WORKS, SO YOU CAN GET PAST IT AND MAYBE ADD IT BACK LATER.

LIKE BLADE RUNNER SAYS, I AGREE

I had problems with getting my feet out at first but i moved the strap post ( drilling new holes further apart and flatter)depending the size of your shoe foot and how if withdraws from the straps. the first board i had i changed them to straight down the center of the board. big feet, long legs the standard setup to cramped and turned.

how your feet end up when you jump up and down (with the hip & knee flexing)LANDING STABLE & balanced. hop like a frog that will determine foot location and WITHDRAWAL FROM THE STRAPS.

STEP ON, STEP OFF, HOP IN, HOP OUT UNTIL YOU CAN DO IT WITHOUT LOOKING OR THINKING.

LOTS OF NICE GADGETS TO SOLVE PROBLEMS BUT DEPENDENCE ON GADGETS HOLDS US BACK FROM BETTER SKILL DEVELOPMENT

PRACTICE... IT ALL GETS BETTER
