Egg shocks

So, I've got an MBS Blade that I manned up today and got sorta sorted with thanks to some friendly motivation / inspiration from deezPanshes. As soon as any semblance of speed developed it was "whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa" wobbly. The trucks are SOOOO loose which in my downhill practicing seemed good.

Not good.

No egg shocks in the trucks, just wide open springs. I assume I'm in need of these to solve this issue? Or do you just crank down on the pivot nut/bolt? If it's egg shocks I need - anyone know where I can get them and if those springs are really sprung (meaning that they shoot apart when you take the truck apart like on a car?)

You can get egg shocks from mbs.com, theyre about 10 bucks a set... I use the yellow ones, and though some wobble develops at higher speeds, they work pretty well. The red ones are the hardest, yellow are medium hard, I think. You'll find more info on their site.

The springs dont pop when you take them off, but when you put the shocks in, you do have to muscle them in on one side (because of the shock on the other side that you just put in). All you need is an allen wrench. It took me about 15 minutes.

When wobble develops, you I shift most of my weight to my rear foot, and they get better. I found this out after I put the shocks in, so I'm not sure if this would help without the shocks in.

Good luck, and have fun.

Sweet! Thanks man, just ordered a yellow set and we'll see how it goes.

There is a mountainboard shop in Calgary that sells the egg shocks too...

And they took PayPal. I'll have to go visit that place this winter. I've looked EVERYWHERE here and can't find an ATB to save my life.

Kelly, the yellow egg shocks are the softest. A yellow set came with my board and I changed them out to orange but I have still had wobble at high speed so thought about getting red ones. I am 200lb and find it a bit too easy to turn the board even though I have the outside spring position and compressed springs.

I copied the page in my MBS board owners manual on adjusting/changing turning resistance. You decompress the spring to remove it.

As dylanj says, wobble goes away if you weight the rear foot.

Thanks Bill. I sent an email to them to see if I could change up the order. I'm about 170lb so I'll go to the mid hardness and decide from there if I need harder softer. I'm hoping they get here before the snow hits so I can kinda "reaffirm" what I learned yesterday.

You guys got any clean wind parks or fields for bugs / boards / Coyotes? We should hook up if the season permits.
