Pulse 7m vs Pulse 2 8m which one is better and why?
how much more would you pay for a pulse 2?
DenisLaMenace - 26-9-2008 at 10:35 AM
From flysurfer, Pulse2 has
- shorter bridles
- bit more depower
- turns a bit faster
but small size Pulse1 like 7m also turn fast
- aspect ratio between Pulse1 and Psycho3
so more performance than Pulse1
- elastic cell connections (indestructible)
- no factory 5th line (will cost you 100$)
- more low end
but small size who cares
Pulse1 has 5th line, and sometimes it comes with the OH SH#T handles which very useful as safety to bring the kite down in the middle of the
powerzone without releasing security by pulling the brakes extensively
So it depends what you want to do:
waves/kiteloops go Pulse2
just ride, Pulse1 does the job well enough
Price difference ?? probably 200$. If you add 5th line, then it becomes 300$ but this is just my taught, economy 101 makes it (offer vs demand)
Pulse2 6m is just 900$ brand new
Pulse2 8m is 1150$

Thanks Buzz
that was a ton of info, based on what you said I'd definitely prefer the Pulse 2.
I have an offer of a Pulse 1 7m for $615 shipped. comes with FDS, Oh SH#T handles and what looks like a carbon bar all in like new condition.
I'm waiting to see what powerzone comes up with in terms of a demo Pulse 2 8m before I pull the trigger.

$615 is a good price ! I paid $800 for mine less about 1/2 year ago and have had no regrets !
I haven't had a chance at a 8m P2 but am totally satisfied with my Pulse !

Foilzone has some good comparisons of these kites.
Regarding FDS, you can have it installed on your kite. I had it done on my Pulse-2 6m by the dealer.

so I guess since the Pulse 1 is more Grunty does that mean the Pulse 2 is going to handle gusts better?
maybe I'm confused but grunty to me sounds like abrupt power?
Bladerunner - 26-9-2008 at 04:17 PM
I have been pleased with the gust munching on the 7m.
It is interesting how it absorbs it ? It hits with a bang and then doesn't add up to much ! By the time you react to that initial jerk it has settled
itself out ??
I'm sure the P2 has the same features that I like. The most positive ( + adjustable ) feedback to the bar I have felt. The bar is tiny but does the
job + is very comfortable, I find ? I always know where this kite is and what it's doing without having to look. More so than any other kite I've
flown. Depower is HUGE ! Relaunch can be handled with just pulling one side I could go on !
I find it interesting that people say it's more grunty ? Grunty isn't exactly how I would describe mine. Predictable would be my word ?
If you don't grab it at that price, someone should

PULSE 7 all the way
nwsurfwakeskate - 7-10-2008 at 03:22 PM
I bought the pulse 7m :wee:
Bladerunner - 8-10-2008 at 02:32 PM
Kiss the Warrior goodbye ! ;-)
You are going to find the pulse to be a whole lot more friendly. You won't have to keep on top of it like you have to with the Warrior !
My Pulse is so great I'm still having trouble getting my head around the fact the Pulse II can be better ?
bloah - 8-10-2008 at 04:15 PM
I think the only difference between p2 8 and p1 7 is that p2 8 has a bit more bottom end.
