I currently have a 7m Depower. I wanna add to my Quiver. I weigh 145lbs. I wanna get a new toy for Xmas . Any suggestions? I'm afraid a 12m is too big
for me. but then again I am still new to Depower. Sometimes my Montana does scare me lol. is it maybe cause the depower isn't the greatest? well any
advice would be helpful. I am not aiming at any specific kite brand. :duh:DenisLaMenace - 2-10-2008 at 03:15 PM
Flysurfer Pulse2 12m
Christmas is only once a year, give you a threat
Or maybe the Neo 11m.dgkid78 - 2-10-2008 at 03:41 PM
Ya I am really interested in both those kites. it's like you read my mind. I hear from everyone that has flysurfer that the depower is excellent.
gotta do some more research on the 11m Neo thoughBladerunner - 2-10-2008 at 03:47 PM
Do you ever plan on hitting the water ?
Are you going to buy new or used ?
New I suggest a 10m Frenzy or Manta or Skycountry Alsca. 11m Neo or 12m Pulse II .
I have good feelings about the Neo but no experience to pull from !
I am very impressed with the Alasca and it has a competative price point ?
Used : 10m Frenzy or Manta, Pulse or Pulse II, another Montana ?
I like a nice friendly kite, the type that is good for beginers. I have been most pleased with the Pulse when it comes to easy flight with lot's of
Depower ! I am getting by pretty well with the 13 7 Combo that I have so a 12m Pulse II should be a good match ?dgkid78 - 2-10-2008 at 05:52 PM
Umm well depends Bladerunner. I can't afford a new Flysurfer. so maybe used. I do love my Montana but would like to explore other brands. It's tough
cause i don't have any shops in my area so i can't demo anything. I don't know if the Montana 3's have better depower over the 2 . the clearance sale
is temping. I am really feeling flysurfer. but Xmas is a couple months away and got plenty of time to research my options. :singing: thanks
Bladerunner i will look into the Pulse:bigok:leebrianh - 2-10-2008 at 06:12 PM
How far are you from Wildwood, NJ? If you can come down, you can demo my Pulse2 12M and Don's Neo 11M. He has Montana IV as well. We(NJ Buggy Club)
are meeting on October 12th again.barnes - 3-10-2008 at 03:52 AM

Theres the perfect chance to give them both a shot. The Pulse2s are going for reasonable prices used theses days..thats my personal pick for you!BeamerBob - 3-10-2008 at 04:19 AM
The turning speed on the new Montanas is similar to one kite size down in the III's. That was the big comment when we were flying the MIV's. Well,
turning speed and enhanced stability. I flew the 7m and the 9.5 hooked and unhooked and don't remember any instability in the least. It is going to
be a sweet kite. There will be MIII's on the market at a savings in the next 2 months or so. Our 9.5 will be for sale when the IV's come out. If
you have any snow or water ambitions, the NEO seems to be "all that". Tridude who has had 2 different Flysurfers said HQ has a contender with the
NEO. Decisions, decisions. Bladerunner - 3-10-2008 at 07:21 AM
You could probably get by with a 13m Pulse if one comes up ?
It is a bit different to fly due to it's size. More park and ride but it is a gentle giant. A fellow around here had one as His only kite and it was
amazing how few days he missed with too much wind.
My 13m Psycho III is similar but a bit easier to get nice safe jumps out of.kiteNH - 3-10-2008 at 07:22 AM
What are your goals for your new kite? Landboarding? Snowkiting? Kiteboarding? Buggy? Or all of the above.
What kind of wind range are you covering with your Montana right now? Are you looking for a kite to cover lighter winds or higher?
What will your (parent's Xmas) budget be?dgkid78 - 3-10-2008 at 12:52 PM

Ya it's for landboarding. My budget is prob gonna be $1000. Right now with my Montana I use it in 12mph-18mph .....I know it's capable of much more
but, i don't feel so safe. Not enought Depower. so i think m looking at a used Flysurfer. Wish the parents would buy it but then what would the wife think? hehe Mama's Boy!!burritobandit - 3-10-2008 at 02:43 PM
Just a heads up.. Backcountryoutlet.com has 12m Slingshot Snow Rangers for $420 shipped (free shipping). Backpack, bar+20m lines included, too. I've
been VERY tempted to pick one up, but have been distracted by LEIs lately.Bladerunner - 3-10-2008 at 04:49 PM
A fellow around here flies the Slingshot kite ! I haven't tried it but He has become it's Master :cool2: This guy has only been at it a little over a
year and is the person I have seen progress the fastest ever. He gets some big floaty jumps on that thing and his ATB. His only other kite is a 5m
Blaze II and He doesn't seem in a hurry to buy more kites :smug:
I would GO FOR IT !!!!!!!! That's an amazing price and a very good kite ! Now you have $580 to spend on a BUGGY :wow:
Merry Christmas :wee:
P.S. 'kid. It's not the size of your quiver but how well you fly it that matters :wink2:kiteNH - 3-10-2008 at 05:15 PM
That is an amazing price *if* the kite is decent. I've seen these kites for great prices before and wondered why no one on the forum flys them. I've
never seen them for this price though and if I'd seen that before I ordered my Frenzy I might have given it a try. There seem to be lots of companies
out there selling a single model of open cell depowers but the HQ Montana's seem to be the only one that can get any share of the Ozone market. Even
Flexi doesn't have a contender.Bladerunner - 4-10-2008 at 08:07 AM
Don't forget this guy is just over a year at it. He is blowing me away !
He has skills but having a good kite has to have helped !doublespeed360 - 4-10-2008 at 04:46 PM
