Lost: Homemade Plyboard in North Philadelphia

barnes - 6-10-2008 at 07:10 PM

I lent my brother my car to go get party supplies. He ran out of room for the 10+ gallons of fruit punch (necessary for far, far to much jungle juice.) so he apparently took my board out of my car (which was packed to go down to the beach the next day) and he claimed to have put it back into the car on top of the fruit punch. My suspicion is he had took it out while unloading the car, and left it where he laid it...which I suspect was the fence next to where he had parked.

So, some lucky North Philly resident who was walking through the intersection of 15th and Diamond was luck enough to find a 150cm, poorly made, paisly imprinted kiteboard, which I assume who ever found it, had no idea what it really was.

The place where it was last seen was only 3 blocks from where Officer McDonald was shot and killed only 5 days before the board had gone missing.

...and for some reason, I'm hopelessly in love with the city of 'Brotherly Love'. :puzzled:

you say it was home made, you should be able to spot it then if you ever get the chance.:thumbdown::thumbdown: was that your only one?

Wow that suckssss man!!! It's a big old thing so hopefully it will show up someplace oneday... it's always much worse losing your own creations than mass produced ones.

True to a point.....but probably better losing the plyboard than losing a shiny new $600 or $700 board.

It sounds to me like your bro needs to take an attempt at building a board to replace this one.

Oh jeeze, my brother doing something with his hands? Don't want to think about it.

I'm not to distressed about it, and this was mostly posted do the the sheer humor of a kiteboard lost in North Philly. I was offered a new board (well, new to me) for FREE! I have the best friends around here, I really do.

I will make a new board sometime...I loved that thing just because I built it myself...this loss hurts worse then the lost MBS board, thats for sure!

Moral of this story: If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. (Or: If you can't deal with being robbed, get out of Philly!)
