Either loves kiting, or hates it. How's it for you?!

I think i officially just got my girl hooked on kiting :)

kiteNH - 19-10-2008 at 07:45 PM

Loves it. She only static flies so far, but she's asking for a board and going to get out on the snow this winter.

DAKITEZ - 19-10-2008 at 07:54 PM

doesn't care for it. Likes to fly, but doesn't like the wind

I'm trying to convert her, but it could be awhile.

NPWfever - 19-10-2008 at 10:18 PM

Working on it...actually took her out today and she flew my trainer, and did well, its just a matter of building up some power, and see how she likes it, she wants to watch me first though.

PHREERIDER - 20-10-2008 at 05:40 AM

doesn't care for it, but the mountain of windsurf gear i just got, she's stoked on it.

domdino - 20-10-2008 at 07:49 AM

Mines trying her best to get into it, mainly because i'm such an #@%$#! when i have a kite in my hand and i just run straight into the water and dump her :D
She's a windsurfer so it makes her jealous when she doesn't have kit with her, can't wait to be able to ride with her though that will be awesome :wee:
She's got really good control of the kite, just needs to figure out getting up on the board and being a bit less timid of the kite

B-Roc - 20-10-2008 at 09:10 AM

Doesn't care for it. She has flown my kites and has enjoyed that but its not like she'd ever suggest we go out. She's happy my kids have started flying but is concerned for their safety and mine every time I go out (especially in the winter when I'm on ice).

McDuck - 20-10-2008 at 10:27 AM

Thinks I'm crazy. Prefers shoes. =)

NPWfever - 20-10-2008 at 10:29 AM

Why do we need so many kites....? Same reason they need so many shoes :bouncy:

kitedemon - 20-10-2008 at 10:35 AM

Mine loves it she is just learning to buggy with my old PL lucky she a lot smaller than i am other wise she would take over the kite I was using!

My wife and I have an arrangement. she will go to the beach with us to fly if I take her chair, umbrella, and the cooler. AND if I don't make her fly kites, she won't make me go to scrapbook weekends with her. She is supportive, but has no desire to hold handles in her hand. I'd like to take her for a tandem ride sometime to see how she likes that.

revpaul - 20-10-2008 at 11:11 AM

mine can fly (unless she forget by now) all my duals, Revs, and probably spent time with the Little Devil before i went on a kite hiatus. i believe she could easily transiton into the buggy but she's not the least bit interested in anything 'kite' though, never was:crazy:
too bad:no:

macboy - 20-10-2008 at 05:35 PM

Same lack of interest here. She came out with us once last winter to go cross country skiing but (obviously) it was windy so while we had our backs to the wind and were just fine, she FROZE! I'll see if I can get her out again this winter under the wind shelter we picked up this summer but I'm not holding my breath. She's generally supportive and seems to condone anything active. If I were blowing wads of dough on Xboxes, Wiis, car stereos and computer gear she'd be less supportive I know. Any healthy, active exploits she generally encourages.

Baluk - 20-10-2008 at 06:16 PM

Ah I see I see. Well I got her out once so far, and she was absolutely hooked. I can't wait for the winter to get her out on skis! She's really pumped for it.

SCREWYFITS - 20-10-2008 at 08:02 PM

My wife is more than supportive (pushes me to go out and fly) and flies once in a while and does a good job at it, I'd love to get her out for a tandem bug ride... hopefully down a NABX she'll get that ride... and like it enough to try a solo run...
good luck everyone...
support them and they should support you...

NPWfever - 20-10-2008 at 08:40 PM

What ride are you talking about screwy? lol =P Refrain from that at NABX dude....we are in tents.....

rofl

Sorry, I couldn't resist.... :wee:

SCREWYFITS - 20-10-2008 at 09:15 PM

You guys are very lucky; keep them interested. After 30 yrs married mine just says "It's windy, where can I find you today?" She actually took my avatar photo though while beachcombing for shots - it was the 1st time she had seen me landboard.

NPWfever - 21-10-2008 at 08:35 PM

Mine wants to try out my 6m access tomorrow, she took to my trainer like a pro =)

Scudley - 30-10-2008 at 11:12 AM

I hear guys say they wish that they could buggy as fast as my SO does. Some ask how it feels to have a GF who buggies better than I do. Last week she was attempting to get air. She did backwards 360 spins before I did them.
It is not all tea and cakes: she gets first pick from the quiver.

Mine likes it. Doesnt love it just likes it. Hope it grows to love :) She flew my beamer but it had too much pull for her. (5'2" 105lbs.)Thats why I bought the Symphony. So she could come out and fly with me. I was out this weekend with a friend of mine while she had to work, she was kinda mad...haha.

Bladerunner - 30-10-2008 at 12:27 PM

Does she bake you pies?

Baluk - 13-11-2008 at 08:10 PM

So at a mere 90lbs she's flown the 14m Rebel. She's pumped for winter and I'm definitely buying her a set of ski's for this winter!
