The biggest question is whether you've flown before or not. You definitely DON'T want to start out with any of those kites IMO. They'd be good fun
once you have your bearings though - I assure you that. Have a peek at the Scoop's guide sticky at the top of this Forum thread. That combined with
all the feedback you're going to get from the PKF members here (with far more knowledge than me) and you;ll be well on your way to this wonderful
addiction. Chances are you'll own one of EACH of the kites you mentioned ; )

i have experience with best guroo, waroo and cabrinha convert LEIs, also with some foils.i will probably try to get blade.

I think that's a good call on the Blade. I know a guy that's had good times with his Aces but I can't say I've had the same good luck. I struggled
with my Ace for quite some time and really it needs good winds to fly well. Can't comment on the Blade but I dare say it'll be a better kite to get
your teeth into. Either way, sounds like you've got the skills you'll need. Stay safe and have fun!

I take it you no longer have access to the LEI's that you mentioned - all of which would do the job better and in a more controllable manner than a
fixed bridle kite. The blades are good but you gotta watch out for gusty winds - most of the serious crashes on you tube are with blades - great
kites but they have a tendency to not know when to stop - that's why I converted to the depowers - so much more control. But I still love my blades.
And the Pansh lines aren't that bad - the handles suck but the lines are solid.

i have cabrinha convert 12m LEI, but it is just to slow to redirect and jump.of course better will do a smaller depower, but i dont want to spend that
much money.

If static jumping is your goal and you know how to fly / respect a kite you may want to think about something just a bit bigger ?
5m ( or 4.9 blade ) is sort of the smallest size you want to jump with and redirecting at the right time is very important. A 6.5 blade may be the
kite you really want ?$$$ Far better float and a lot more forgiving. The trade off is that it won't give you as much total range ? Do you NEED the 5m
for the winds in your area ?

Sure have found the Sabre can sure generate a lot of lift and are very floatly, had some amazing air on the snowboard and ski's and covered some
serious ground in the air

yes, jumping is my goal, but i dont want huge jumps, thats what my cab convert 12m if for.
Bladerunner - 3-11-2008 at 09:59 AM
If that is the case then something like the 5m Ace or 4.9 Blade. Depending on budget.
I don't have experience with the 6m Ace but it seems to have disappointed some ? No experience with DP yet either .
The 5m Ace probably gives the largest workable wind range of those 2.
BeamerBob - 3-11-2008 at 10:47 AM
I had trouble jumping with the 6m Ace but the 5m is quick enough to redirect. Blade is much superior if the budget allows.

yea, will try to get used III blade...
