Depower How Do You Land?

I know that with fixed bridles you have to redirect in order to let yourself down nice and smooth (in order to keep the tension between you and the kite). But how about depower kites? Is there a different way to let yourself down nice and slow? I'm just preparing myself for flying this kite that I have, I know that before I master the art of depower I will get lifted (it's a fact) I just need to know what to do once I'm in the air.

Nope exactly the same principle :)
Don't be afraid to give the bar a nice hard yank though on the redirect.

On the other hand, your kite isn't a notorious lifter though. My 5m Blaze never picked me up at all. I guess you could get lofted somewhat but I don't see you 15' high all of a sudden.

True... the only reason why I say this was because when I flew it for the first time in decent winds it did loft me unexpectedly and I wasn't sure how to bring myself down :)

Thanks man, is it best to have it powered up so it has more power? Or do i depower it to let myself down faster? Just not sure how the depower plays into the redirect.

for intentional jumps, take kite from 11oclock to 1 oclock and when you feel the pull on your harness give the bar a pull. depending on the speed of the kite, you either redirect straight away or in the middle of the jump. redirect help the float. at the top of the jump let the bar out so that you starrt to decend then just before you hit the ground pull the bar in again for a super soft landing.

look round and see if anybody noticed, smile to yourself and repeat!!!!!!!!!
