New Ring for Pulse 2

kitedog - 19-11-2008 at 06:08 AM

Hey Guys!

Both my Pulse 2s haven't been modified to FDS and I've been reading about FLS. I'm not ready to switch to FDS and the best suggestion I've found to balance the line stretch from the FLS is to put a second ring on the other front line to switch the FLS back and forth. My question is where do I find a matching ring?

Also, will a second ring foul my lines or cause any other problems?

Thanks!

Shoot John with powerzone (PKF ID powerzone) a u2u, I am pretty sure he would be able help you out.

He has hooked me up a number of times. Good repairs, too

seems a bit like sharpening a knife.......5 releases left, 5 right, then four left, four right etc............. I liked the FDS mod and recommend it.............

I hear ya'.

To tell you the truth I haven't had a chance to use the Pulses that much yet. Just static flying in my front yard to test them out. The FDS makes sense to me but I'm just trying to economize and I'd prefer to just have the four lines to deal with.

Anyway, I'm heading to Texas at the end of the week and I'm going to get a chance to use these bad boys. Hopefully, I won't be deploying the fls but I'm sure I'll have a far better feel for it after some time under the kite.

Thanks for the input and I'll contact John.

when I first got my pulse 2 12m I tried flying it with FLS at first. all I can say is. WHAT A MESS!

I found FLS left too much power in the kite and typically when I pulled the FLS the kite would helicopter to the water and tangle everything up. then it would relaunch on its own a couple times off of the water only to spin around and crash again because I hadn't reset the FLS yet.

FLS is a royal pain in my opinion and actually a pretty dangerous safety for higher winds. I'll never go back now that I've flown an FDS kite. FDS has already saved my life and my kites a couple of times.

but with all that said there is still people who prefer FLS over FDS I think its a Love it or Hate it kinda thing :bouncy:

I love FDS too  because I can relaunch without a mess right away
