Slingshot Surefire Spreader Bar

Thinking about picking one of these up...just because I'm a nut for safety.

So what's the word on these bars. Pro's/Con's etc...

They work great but are expensive !

Nice thing is you don't have to worry about what kind of safety is on any given kite that you have or borrow. Safety is built in to the spreader.

I have a similar one made by Liquid force. The problem with it is that the opening for the strap to run through is only about 2.5 inches and my Dakine straps are more like 3 inches wide.

Just checked the price, too... wow, they are expensive.

The picture isn't all that good.

The hammer head is locked in place by a spring loaded push button. It pivots to release.

My liquid force one works the same.

I have 2 problems with mine. I can't fit it on my Dakine Nexus harness and I like to ride with the donkey dick in the hammerhead when flying depower. So I must always go to FDS with them ! It came on my impact vest harness, so I didn't have to pay for mine.

They are 120 bucks, to answer

just be carefull you don't accidentally nudge the trigger... we've seen local guys accidentally deploy it unexpectedly and have to rush to help them out.

cool idea though!

i've been using none for 5 years or more. i've never had an accidental oppening. but...i released to the leash and the part BROKE that rotates around the hook where the leash attaches. i lost my kite...for a hundred yards or so. it was at least 2 years old at that point. i tok a piicture of the breakage adn slingshot sent me a new one free...before i even tok the pic! if this one breaks, i'll buy another one.
