Newbie here: I've been interested in trying a nasa wing with a landboard.
But, from what I've searched in this forum, quad handles can be rough on the hands and knuckles. I have a few bad knuckles and use wrist hooks at the
gym and wrist loops on a dual line stunt kite.
I don't see how I could dump wrist loops very fast - I'd have to rely on just hitting the brake line?
What arrangement could a body harness be used with a joining line bewtween NPW handles, since I understand the brake line need some tension.

What you are going to need is an appropriate harness... I like a seat harness myself, and some time flying kites to learn how they fly. Whatever you
do, make sure you can get out of whatever harness system you use. Its scary enough getting dragged down the field by a kite... you will want to
research kite-specific harnesses.
Welcome to the forum. I am sure some NPW fliers will be by with some kite advice.
BTW- Did you just buy a board on ebay??

I USED A STROP LINE ON MY npw5 WITH THE LAND BOARD AND HARNESS.
SINCE THE npw ARE NOT FRONT BIASED KITES THE STROP LINE NEEDS TO BE FAIRLY EASY TO MOVE UP AND DOWN THE HANDLES TO BALANCE REQUIRES A LITTLE INPUT TO
CRUISE BUT MAKES FOR GREAT REST FOR THE HANDS /ARMS.
I THINK I POSTED ABOUT IT
THE LINE WEARS QUICKLY ABOUT EVERY 20-30 HOURS
MOVABLE ON THE HANDLES MAKES EASY,
OH YEAH NO SAFETY RELEASE SO CAREFUL

PHREERIDER,
Are you saying that you move the strop down on to the handles to make up for the brake bias ?
I have only flown with the strop hooked up as normal. I found it ever so slightly tiring have to constantly keep thing brake positive ?
I have created a small Q.R. on my strops using a cotter pin and piece of tubing. It works well but shortens travel a bit on the one side of the strop.

yes on the handles,
big loops, larked on and can be easily relaxed to move up and down to balance
the less wind , more brake to add
a pin loop release would be nice but crowds the flow
any technical always unhooked even transitions ....really only for cruising and rest

Yep - I've seen a strap hooked to the top control loops on other quad handles. So I guessed right that NPW quad loops would have to be around the
middle - and perhaps be adjustable.
I got to try to fly a little, commercial NPW quad. "Try" is the operative here. I couldn't get it to lift in the choppy, light wind whatsoever. I
think the lines needed some adjustment.
I also got to try an HQ Rush Pro - it launched flawlessly and the bar certainly made it easy to control :sniff: - you can't exactly fly it off the
handles in a parking lot, tho.
And yep, dylan - I'm waiting for your board to arrive!

I fly my NPW9b with quad handles and a strop line all the time, just adjust the brakes so they're a little bit tight

For nasa wings we move the link line down the handles towards the center to help with the brakes tension.
When you fly nasa wings you have to fly them with a lot of brake input just the opposite of foils.

Don't some of the NPW9 models come with some sort of cross-bridal hookup arrangement, whereas the brake lines are also partially attached to the
control lines? I read somewhere that this can help with collapsing.
